The English Language and Literary Association (ELLA) has effectively executed its activities throughout this academic year. The culminating event, the valedictory function of ELLA, took place on Friday, March 1, 2024. Professor Sandesh Rathod, the Coordinator of ELLA, presented a captivating session where he shared several poems accompanied by music. Additionally, he engaged the students by encouraging them to 'sing' along with the poems, adding an interactive and engaging dimension to the presentation.

The Department of English and the Department of Sociology jointly organized a one-day workshop on Gender Sensitization on 23 February 2024. Dr. Anand Pawar, Executive Director, SAMYAK. Pune. Dr. Pawar eloquently distinguished between 's*x' and 'gender'. He also explained, with numerous, examples how women are exploited in our society.

Celebrated 100 years of publication of ‘A Passage to India’ at the Department by a brilliant talk on the novel by Prof. Sandesh Rathod.

Yet another milestone in the history of our college's English Department! On February 15, 2024, we formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of English at S. P. College, Pune. This academic partnership between our departments promises significant benefits for both students and faculty in pursuit of academic excellence. Our sincere gratitude goes to the Principal of S. P. College and Dr. Smital Pawar, the Head of the Department of English, S. P. College, for their proactive approach in establishing this collaboration. We extend special appreciation to Dr. Avinash Jagtap, Principal of T. C. College, whose wholehearted support facilitated this endeavor.

IQAC YUVA MOHOTSAV 2024

On Friday, January 19, 2024, the English Language and Literary Association (ELLA) at our college's Department of English held its annual inauguration ceremony. The primary objective of ELLA is to enhance the linguistic and literary skills of our students.

We were honoured to have Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dixit, from Mudhoji College, Phaltan, as the chief guest for the event. His insightful discourse captivated the students as he spoke eloquently about the significance of the English language, effective language acquisition, and the art of reading literature.

Dr. Ashok Kalange, the Vice Principal of the college, presided over the function. Prof. Sandesh Rathod, the coordinator of ELLA, dedicated substantial effort to the meticulous organization of the event.

Commemorated Dr.Iyer Sir's birthday by recounting his life to students in a workshop, organised to honour him. Honourable principal Dr.Avinash Jagtap eloquently highlighted Iyer Sir's greatness as a teacher. Prof.Tanweer and Dr. Snober received praise from the students for their engaging and interactive sessions.

The Department of English is organising a one-day workshop to commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of Dr. K. S. Iyer.

On Friday, 18 August 2023 the SYBA and TYBA students of the Special English program of our college organized a Fresher's Party. Prof. Krishna Kulkarni was the chief guest of the function. All the faculty of the department and students attended the function. The objective of the function was to introduce the FYBA and M.A.-I students to the faculty, fellow students, and the diverse array of activities organized by the department. The students thoroughly enjoyed the proceedings of the event, during which they were entertained and provided with an overview of the department's history and the wide range of courses and activities it offers.
