Grateful for partnerships that help us reach more children. šŸ’›

We are delighted to partner with Dream a Dream and, through this collaboration, have the opportunity to bring Artbeat’s music-based wellbeing work to Sacred Heart School, Bengaluru.

Dream a Dream’s vision of creating an education system where children don’t just learn, but thrive, strongly resonates with Artbeat’s own belief that wellbeing needs to be intentionally nurtured.

Through music, we hope to create spaces where children can express themselves, connect with others, participate meaningfully and build confidence.

We are grateful to the Dream a Dream team for trusting us and creating the opportunity for Artbeat to be part of the journey at Sacred Heart.

Different organisations. A shared belief: children deserve spaces to thrive.

Thank you, Dream a Dream. šŸ’›šŸŽµ

Here’s what your donation really makes possible: someone who keeps showing up.

We train a community singer or musician to become a child’s Sangat — an accompanist who supports the child’s own voice rather than taking it over.

They then bring Artbeat’s programme into a school, week after week.

And that’s where the cycle begins:

The school partnership creates meaningful, sustained work for the facilitator.
The facilitator stays.
The child gets continuity.
And the wellbeing work has time to take root.

A child’s wellbeing isn’t built in a single session.
It grows through familiarity, trust and repeated connection.

So you’re not simply funding a session.

You’re helping create a steady presence in a child’s life.

Every week.
Every rhythm.
Every time.

"How do we support children’s wellbeing before distress becomes visible?

Around the world, organisations and schools are exploring different answers.

Some use structured play to build communication and belonging.

Some integrate social and emotional learning into everyday school life.

Some use mindfulness to help children develop awareness and emotional regulation.

And some use music to create opportunities for connection, expression and youth voice.

Different mediums. A shared belief:

Children’s wellbeing can be nurtured intentionally.

At Artbeat, we use participatory music experiences within a structured wellbeing programme to create spaces where children can express themselves, connect with others, participate meaningfully and experience a sense of agency.

Music is our medium.

Children’s wellbeing is our purpose.

Sometimes, wellbeing looks like a small moment.
Until you realise how big it is.

Age 9: He began the tanpura ritual on his own. No one taught him to.

Age 11: After five sessions, she spoke her first word in the classroom — an observation independently confirmed by three people.

Age 12: ā€œI want this forever.ā€

Three children. Three different journeys.
And three small moments that told us something was changing.

They were building a safe place within themselves — brick by brick, note by note.

We didn’t build it for them.

We created the space.
We showed up.
We listened.
And we gave them the time and freedom to build it themselves.

Help the next 140 children build theirs.

Before a child can learn, they must feel safe.

NEP 2020 and NCF 2023 say wellbeing is essential to learning — yet India has less than 2 mental health professional per 100,000 people (WHO), and for many children, no adult who reliably shows up.

Artbeat's answer is accompanied safety: trained community musicians who show up, every week, with a structured, measured programme — so the child can build safety they own.

Help us take it to five schools this year.

Introducing Aalap – our music-based wellbeing programme for neurodiverse children.

Every child connects with the world in their own unique way.

Some respond to rhythm before words.

Some communicate through movement.

Some need time before they feel ready to engage.

At Artbeat, we believe these differences are not barriers to learning—they are the starting point.

That’s why we’ve created Aalap, inspired by the aalap in Indian classical music, where a raga unfolds freely without a fixed tempo, the programme honours each child’s individual pace and sensory needs.

Instead of expecting children to adapt to a method, Aalap uses carefully designed musical experiences to create opportunities for regulation, expression, connection and confidence.

Every session begins with one simple belief:

Meet the child where they are.

Because every child deserves a space where they feel safe, heard and valued.

Today we open Artbeat to the community.

šŸŽµ Before a child can learn, they must feel safe — and someone must show up. We call it accompanied safety: safety the child builds, with someone who reliably accompanies them.

For a year we've bootstrapped music-based wellbeing programmes so children can build that safety for themselves — including children the system rarely hears.

This year: five schools, 140 children, zero fees for any child. We don't claim to change the world. We claim to make it manageable — hummable — for our children.

Watch the story, and if it resonates, be the one who shows up.

A meaningful beginning at Sacred Heart Public School. šŸŽµ

This year, Artbeat will be running Aaroh, our music-based wellbeing programme for neurotypical children.

Before the programme officially begins, we wanted every child to understand what Aaroh is about—and to decide for themselves if they wanted to participate.

After sharing what the programme would involve, we invited the children to choose.

Every one of the 26 students signed up.

We also held a feelings check-in. While some children didn’t want to share their emotions aloud, they were offered another option: writing them down.

The handwritten notes were simple, honest and full of excitement:
ā€œI am feeling good.ā€
ā€œI am excited.ā€
ā€œI love music.ā€
ā€œI feel happy.ā€
ā€œI want to learn music.ā€

For us, this is what wellbeing looks like—creating a space where children have choices, where every voice matters, and where music becomes a pathway to expression.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful year ahead with the children of Sacred Heart Public School.

A fair question: if Artbeat is in institutional conversations, why crowdfund?

Because the two do different jobs.

Institutional funding scales the work — on institutional timelines.
Children's needs don't run on approval cycles.

Corporate funding helps us scale. Community funding means someone shows up — and keeps showing up.

Campaign opens on 15th August!

I always have a tune in my head when I'm nervous. This time, I had a whole song. šŸŽ¶

On 6 August, we brought Feel First: A Live Sound Experiment to the ASHA Ɨ NAV stage — and the room showed up in the best way. Educators, parents, autistic children, and so many curious minds, all leaning in.

We started in silence, with a tanpura and a simple question: where do you feel this? And you answered. Sunshine. Brightness. Nostalgia. Romance. Calm. You mapped sound to feeling, played along, and shared insights that reminded me exactly why we do this work.

Because at Artbeat, we believe art is SEL. Music isn't a break from wellbeing — it's how a nervous system learns to settle, and how a child learns to name what lives inside them.

Thank you, ASHA, NAV, and Sabha, for holding space for us. šŸ’›

If you'd like to host this workshop — to understand what we do, why we do it, and how it helps — reach out. We'd love to show up for your community too.
