Does your baby throw their spoon, cup, toys, and basically anything they can get their hands on?
It might feel like they’re doing it just to test your patience…
But they’re actually learning.
Around 8–9 months, babies become fascinated by cause and effect.
Every time they drop something, they’re discovering:
🧠 What happens when I let go?
👀 Does it make a sound?
🤲 Can I do it again?
😅 Will mom or dad pick it up?
They’re also developing:
✔️ Hand-eye coordination
✔️ Fine motor skills
✔️ Understanding of cause and effect
✔️ Problem-solving skills
As frustrating as it can be, repeatedly dropping objects is actually an important part of learning.
A few things that helped me:
✨ Offer safe toys they can drop
✨ Stay calm and expect repetition
✨ Use mealtime catch mats if needed
✨ Remember it’s a phase
The good news?
One day they’ll stop throwing everything…
and start hiding everything instead
💬 What’s the funniest thing your baby keeps throwing lately?
📌 Save this if you’re tired of picking up spoons all day

If feeding suddenly feels harder around 9 months… you’re not imagining it 😅
This stage comes with a LOT of feeding changes as babies become more independent, curious, and distracted.
Some common changes at this age:
👶 Wanting more finger foods
Babies often prefer self-feeding over being spoon-fed all the time.
🙃 Throwing food repeatedly
Annoying? Yes. Normal? Also yes 😅
They’re learning cause & effect.
👀 Getting distracted during meals
At this age, EVERYTHING feels more interesting than eating.
🤲 Wanting independence
Grabbing the spoon, refusing help, making messes, all part of learning.
🥣 Appetite changing daily
Some days they eat a lot, other days barely anything.
The biggest thing that helped me?
✨ Letting go of perfection
✨ Staying consistent with meal times
✨ Allowing mess and exploration
✨ Trusting appetite changes
At 9 months, feeding is still a learning experience, not just nutrition
💬 What feeding change surprised you most lately?

👶 Follow for baby sleep, routines & feeding tips
Between 8–9 months, babies change SO much, sometimes almost overnight 😭
This stage is full of curiosity, movement, and brain development.
Some things babies commonly start learning at this age:
👋 Understanding familiar words and tone
Even if they can’t talk yet, they understand more than we realize.
🫣 Looking for hidden objects
This is called object permanence and it’s a huge developmental milestone.
🚼 Moving with purpose
Crawling, scooting, climbing… suddenly they want EVERYTHING 😅
🤲 Copying actions
Waving, clapping, banging toys, copying sounds. Babies learn by watching you.
😅 Throwing things repeatedly
As exhausting as it is… they’re actually experimenting and learning cause & effect.
🧠 Understanding routines
Songs, bedtime steps, meal routines, repetition helps babies feel secure.
🤍 Stronger attachment to parents
This is why clinginess and separation anxiety often increase around this age.
The biggest thing to remember?
Your baby is learning through everyday experiences, play, repetition, and connection

One day your baby is happily sitting…
and the next they’re trying to stand on EVERYTHING
Around 8–10 months, many babies start showing signs they’re getting ready to pull to stand.
Some common signs include:
🚼 Trying to climb furniture
💪 Pushing up onto knees frequently
🛋 Holding onto couches, rails, or tables
👀 Wanting to stay upright more often
🤲 Pulling on you to stand
🦵 Better sitting balance and stronger legs
What helps most?
✔️ Lots of floor play
✔️ Safe spaces to explore movement
✔️ Opportunities to practice naturally
✔️ Avoiding too much container time
And remember:
Babies reach milestones on their own timeline
Some babies pull to stand earlier, some later, both can be completely normal.
The goal isn’t to “teach” standing quickly… it’s to support natural development safely.
💬 Is your baby trying to stand already?

Some wake windows used to feel SO long and fussy
But I noticed my baby became much happier when I started focusing less on “keeping busy” and more on simple connection + movement.
Here are a few things that helped us most:
🌿 Outdoor time
Fresh air seriously changes baby’s mood sometimes.
🚼 More floor play freedom
Babies are happier when they can move freely.
🎵 Music + interaction
Singing, clapping, dancing = instant mood booster.
🫧 Simple sensory play
Water play, bubbles, textured toys… babies LOVE it.
😴 Watching sleepy cues earlier
An overtired baby gets fussy fast.
🍓 Offering food before meltdowns
Waiting too long made feeding harder for us.
🤍 More connection time
Sometimes babies just need attention and closeness.
📦 Toy rotation
Putting toys away for a few days makes them exciting again
Honestly, the smallest changes made the biggest difference in our days

If your baby suddenly wants to be held ALL day lately… you’re definitely not alone
Around 8–9 months, many babies become extra clingy seemingly overnight.
One minute they’re happily playing…
and the next they cry when you:
😭 leave the room
😭 put them down
😭 hand them to someone else
This usually happens because babies at this age are becoming much more aware of:
🧠 their surroundings
👀 your presence
🤍 attachment and separation
They now understand that you can leave…
but they don’t fully understand that you’ll always come back.
Which is why they suddenly want to stay close ALL the time.
Things that helped us:
✨ More connection during the day
✨ Predictable routines
✨ Talking to baby before leaving the room
✨ Short separations + returning calmly
✨ Extra patience during teething/sleep regressions
And honestly?
Sometimes they just need extra comfort during this stage
This phase can feel exhausting…
but it’s also a sign of healthy attachment and development.
💬 Is your baby extra clingy lately too?

Why does diaper changing suddenly become SO hard around 9 months?
Because babies at this age do NOT want to stay still anymore.
Around 8–10 months, babies become:
🏃 More mobile
👀 More curious
💪 More independent
🙃 Less interested in lying still
Which means diaper changes can quickly turn into rolling away, crawling off, grabbing wipes, and escape attempts
Honestly, it’s such a normal phase.
What helped us most:
🎵 Singing songs during changes
🧸 Giving one “special diaper toy”
⚡ Keeping diaper changes quick
🤍 Staying calm when baby fights it
Sometimes changing baby on the floor instead of the changing table also helps!
The biggest thing I learned?
Your baby isn’t trying to be difficult…
They just want to move and explore EVERYTHING right now
💬 Is your baby in the diaper-change wrestling phase?
📌 Save this for later

Sometimes babies just need a way to burn energy 😅
And honestly?
The activities that work best are usually the simplest ones.
Here are some easy ways I help my baby stay active without screens:
🏃 Crawling obstacle course
Use pillows, cushions, or soft toys to encourage movement.
🎵 Music + action songs
Perfect for boosting mood and getting extra movement in.
🧺 Basket play
Babies LOVE taking things out over and over again 😅
🚼 Floor play
Open movement time helps babies practice important skills.
🌿 Outdoor walks
Fresh air can completely reset baby’s mood.
📦 Box play
Opening, closing, filling, and emptying boxes keeps babies surprisingly busy.
💧 Water play
A tiny bowl of water before bath time = instant entertainment.
🫧 Bubble chasing
Simple, fun, and great for movement + tracking skills.
The best part?
You don’t need fancy toys to keep babies engaged

👶 Follow for baby sleep, routines & feeding tips
For the longest time, I thought frequent night wakings were “just a phase.”
And yes sometimes they are.
But I also realized a few things we were doing were accidentally making nights harder 😅
Here are some mistakes that led to MORE wake-ups for us:
❌ Bedtime was too late
An overtired baby often wakes more overnight.
❌ Short naps all day
Poor daytime sleep can affect nighttime sleep too.
❌ Too much stimulation before bed
Bright lights, loud play, and excitement made winding down harder.
❌ No consistent bedtime routine
Babies thrive on predictability.
❌ Waiting too long between sleep
At this age, wake windows matter a lot.
❌ Feeding became the only sleep association
Sometimes baby started needing the same help after every wake-up.
What helped us instead:
✨ Earlier bedtime
✨ Calm bedtime routine
✨ Better daytime sleep balance
✨ Watching sleepy cues sooner
✨ More consistency overall
And honestly?
Small changes made the biggest difference over time
Not every waking can be “fixed” like teething, regressions, development, and hunger are real too.
But improving sleep habits helped us a lot.
