Bridging the Gap Between Earth and Orbit: A Day with Cosmonaut Denis Matveev

We recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a special Space Day event at Dr. M. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University. The event served as a powerful tribute to the legacy of Yuri Gagarin and his historic journey that first opened the stars to humanity.

It was a distinct privilege for the Aerione Bharat team to interact with Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev. Engaging in firsthand dialogue about the complexities of life in orbit and the evolving future of human space missions was nothing short of inspiring.

Insights from the International Space Station

Denis Matveev’s journey offers a masterclass in resilience and technical excellence:
Role: Flight Engineer and Pilot for ISS Expedition 67/68.
Tenure: Logged 194 days, 19 hours, and 1 minute in space (March – Sept 2022).
Technical Expertise: Conducted crucial spacewalks totaling over 26 hours of extravehicular activity (EVA).

We are delighted to share the successful completion of a hands-on workshop on “ Solar-Powered CubeSat Systems” conducted at the Department of Physics(SF), PSG College of Arts & Science.

At Aerione Bharat, this workshop was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world engineering applications. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of solar energy systems and their integration into space technologies, followed by a practical session where students built a mini CubeSat prototype powered entirely by solar energy.

The CubeSat model was equipped with a BMP280 sensor to measure atmospheric parameters such as temperature, pressure, and altitude , along with an LED-based indicator representing real-time system activity.

Key highlights of the session included:

Understanding solar energy harvesting in constrained systems
Designing a basic CubeSat power architecture without battery storage
Hands-on integration of sensors and microcontrollers
Demonstration of atmospheric variation and altitude sensing

The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged students to think critically about energy management and system reliability.

3-Day Resort Rocketry :

Aerione Bharat is offering students a hands-on opportunity to experience space science through an immersive 3-Day Resort Rocketry Program at Bidadi for Free. Students and teachers will travel to Bidadi and stay at a 3-star resort with full accommodation, providing a dedicated environment for focused learning and exploration.

The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of Aerospace and Rocketry through practical exposure.

Students will be introduced to static firing analysis, where they will observe how a rocket is examined, tested, and prepared before launch, following processes similar to real aerospace missions at ISRO, NASA, and other space agencies.

ISRO scientists will join the program to share insights on how rockets are launched during real missions, providing hands-on learning, a case study on an apogee of up to 200 ft. altitude, a static study, and a live launch.

This program is set to launch in May.

Mohit Balaji M, Aerospace Engineer at Aerione Bharat, actively participated in the Asia-Pacific International Conference on Perovskite, Organic Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics (IPEROP26) at Nagoya University, Japan. He engaged in technical sessions, scientific discussions, and industry interactions, gaining valuable insights into global advancements in automation, scalability, and industry collaboration.

The conference facilitated meaningful discussions on future partnerships and knowledge exchange with international institutions and companies. This experience provided deep exposure to global research culture and innovation ecosystems, strengthening international engagement and bridging research with real-world applications.
