Trainer's Profile :

Mrs Ruma Shil is a Committed, Dedicated and Passionate Kathak Dancer who has been training in Kathak and other classical dance forms since the age of 5. She is an MA (Gold Medallist) and PhD in Kathak from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya (India's first university dedicated for Arts, Music and Performing Arts), Chhattisgarh. Her Gurus are Late Shri Umashankar Chakraborty and Prof. Dr. Mandvi Singh (Currently Vice Chancellor of I.K.S.V.V). She has also been trained by eminent Gurus (through Workshops and other mediums) like Pt. Birju Maharaj, Sri Krishnamohan Mishra, Sri Rammohan Mishra, Saswati Sen, Smt. Kumkum Dhar, Smt. Amita Datta, Smt. Mamta Sankar, Pt. Rajen Gangani, Sri Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharjee, Basanti Vaishnav, Suchita Hamalkar, Smt Padma Sharma, Sri Subhash Bandopadhyay. Ruma has performed in many prestigious events and festivals across India. Few among them are

She has been recipient of Multiple Awards such as :
- Rani Padmavati Gold Medal from Indira Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya
for securing 1st rank in M.A
- Dr, Ashirvadam Gold Medal Indira Kala Sangeet University for
securing 1st rank in B.Dance
- 3rd place in West Zonal Youth Festival
- 1st place in Global Culture Competition in West Bengal (RAWA)
- 2nd place in State Level Open Youth Festival

Her latest composition (choreographed and lead role) of Dance Drama "Chandalika" was highly appreciated in the business Expo at Mandya, Chhattisgarh and at Shrut Mondol in I.K.S.V.V. She seeks blessings from everyone in her new journey.
