The Department of Education, Bangalore University, hosted a one-day hands-on workshop titled "AI in Your Hands"- a mobile-based workshop for Prospective Teacher Educators, on 19th March 2026, conducted under the Flagship initiative of PM-USHA, in collaboration with Dr Ambedkar College of Education and St.Paul’s College of Education.
The program was presided over by Prof. Dr Jayakara S.M., Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University, Bengaluru. Prof. V. Sudesh, Nodal Officer, PM-USHA, BUB, was the Guest of Honour. The workshop was coordinated by Dr Vanishree Koppad, Assistant Professor and Co-ordinator, Department of Education and Dr M. C. Yarriswamy, Professor and Dean, Department of Education. The organising committee members, Dr Shivanna V T, Principal, Dr.Ambedkar College of Education, Dr Rupa N T, Principal, St.Paul’s College of Education and the Guest Faculties of the department were present. Prof. K.T. Thiyagu, Associate Professor, Central University of Karnataka, served as the Resource Person for the workshop.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of M.Ed. students from various colleges, along with research scholars and faculty members, all aiming to enhance their technological competencies with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence in education.
The sessions emphasized practical pedagogical interventions through the use of mobile learning applications and AI-powered tools such as Google AR4D, AutoDraw, ElevenLabs, Google Notebook LM, Biblioshiny, lens.org, scan sequence google, groove pizza, ARloopa etc.
The practical demonstrations by the resource person captivated the inquisitive minds of the participants, stimulating curiosity and encouraging immediate application of the learned concepts. The highly engaging nature of the workshop fostered collaboration, inquiry, and hands-on learning among participants.
As reflection remarks, participants appreciated the hands-on approach for simplifying AI tools and enabling immediate application. They also highlighted the accessibility of these tools and expressed their intent to integrate them into their teaching and research practices.
The valedictory remarks were delivered by Dr. Vanishree Koppad, Assistant Professor and Co-ordinator, Department of Education, who expressed gratitude to the PM-USHA initiative, Bangalore University, Resource Person, Principals and faculties of the Collaborated colleges, Guest Faculties of the department, Research Scholars and all the Participants.
