A relay race is a team event in athletics where each member runs a segment of the total distance before passing a baton to the next runner. Common relay races include the 4x100 metres with four athletes per team. The race begins with the first runner carrying the baton, who then hands it off within a designated exchange zone to the next teammate. The little champions are ready, poised with batons in hand to take on the spirit of the game.

Our second guest for the evening, Mr Gopala Krishnan, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, an accomplished and dedicated Public Servant. Addressing the school, he urged each participant to remember that true victory lies not just in crossing the finishing line first, but in daring to begin, in giving your best, and in lifting others along the way. We welcome Shri Laisram Angam Chand Singh, IA&AS (Retd), Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission, as our special guest this afternoon.

A distinguished civil servant of the 1987 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Shri Singh has over three decades of exemplary service in government administration and audit, having served as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India and Principal Accountant General in several states. He inspired the students by talking about the delicate balance between sports and academics that is essential for a student’s overall growth. While academics nurture the mind and build knowledge, sports develop physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience. Engaging in both helps students manage time effectively, reduce stress, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This balance not only shapes well-rounded individuals but also prepares them to face challenges with confidence and determination in all aspects of life.
