Teaching was a calling for Brinda Seshnath right at the age of 17, when she would teach younger students in Mumbai. This passion for enabling students to achieve their full potential, discover it and nurture it came naturally to her. It continued throughout her life as she took the roles of a Nursery teacher, working with students from age group 2-5 years.
An encounter with teachers from Brindavan, was the opening door to the world of children with special needs, the resistance from parents whose kids found learning in a traditional methods difficult.
This led to more courses, more learning in the SLD and Autism spectrum course from KPAMRC. And further to be a long stint at Brindavan, training teachers to identify learning disabilities in young children, to bring a more equitable place for elder children with special needs.
This evolved over time to a need to bring all such students to mainstream and give them a voice, a listening space and a vocational education that made them self dependent.
It was then in 2013, Brinda ma'am found herself meeting Ms. Janhavi and this spark of similar frequencies led to her taking on the role of a co-founder for Vimarsha Charitable Trust.
To this day, the same drive to bring children and adolescents with special needs and learning disabilities to mainstream keeps her going.
That is the story of our co-founder whose calling arrived naturally and has always found a rhythm in everything she does.
