Two days. From learning about AI agents to actually building them.

At Ajeenkya DY Patil School of Engineering, Lohegaon, students went hands-on with Agentic AI — exploring how RAG models, toolkits, and LLMs can work together to create systems capable of handling multiple tasks.

One student built a Resume Digital Twin that could interact with users as a chatbot on their behalf.

Another built an agent capable of retrieving current marketing data.

And the biggest takeaway?

“I learned mostly things which are not actually gotten in two months.”

That’s what happens when AI education moves beyond theory and into building.

From building AI agents that can perform tasks automatically to understanding RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), the workshop took AI from something to simply use to something students can actually build with.

From prompts and chatbots to AI systems that can reason, use tools and complete tasks.

The interest is already there.

Now it’s about turning that curiosity into the capability to build.

Knowing AI tools is one thing. Building with them is another.

Before the Agentic AI FDP at MIT Academy of Engineering, faculty were familiar with tools like ChatGPT and Gemini — but had never actually designed or developed an AI agent.

For faculty from core departments, the idea of building an AI agent from scratch could feel even more unfamiliar.

The workshop changed that.

From understanding different agents and APIs to workflow management and actually building an AI agent, the entire journey moved from **design → development → ex*****on.**

And perhaps the most important outcome wasn’t just learning a new technology.

It was confidence.

That’s what hands-on AI education should do — not just introduce another tool, but help people realise they can actually build with it.

How do you make a huge AI model smaller without making it stupid? 👀
