The Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, India, is collaborating with the State University of New York at Potsdam, USA, and the National Education Foundation at Washington DC, USA to offer “Job-Ready Courses” to students in specialized areas under a common skill development initiative titled “Make India Great – MIG.”
The MIG program aims to upskill one million Indian youth in high-end 21st-century skills and place them on a global platform transforming India into a powerhouse of “skilled human-resource.” The objective is to provide high-end technology and business skill courses in high-demand learning areas with good employment opportunities to Indian youth making them “job-ready” at the most affordable fee structure.
The courses are world-class, comprehensive in content, developed keeping in focus imparting practical skills to apply the domain knowledge on the job.
In the first phase, ten specialized skill courses are made available in areas with good placement opportunities like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Big Data amongst other courses in online mode on the state-of-the-art learning management system of the State University of New York, the largest university in the USA. Successful completion of the skill courses entitles joint certification by KSOU, SUNY, and NEF. The courses are for 12 weeks and are priced by KSOU at Rs.5,000/- per course.
As part of the MIG program, the National Education Foundation, USA is offering one thousand scholarships covering 100% of the course fee. Further, two faculty members of KSOU will undergo advanced training for four weeks at SUNY with all costs met by NEF, USA.
