Cyber bullying is a very serious and often overlooked form of bullying that can have dire effects on a child. Especially in today's day and age, it is more and more frequent and serious. It is important to monitor your child's usage of social media both to ensure that they are not an offender or a victim. Informing your child about what is okay and what isn't okay to do on social media is a healthy talk to engage in.

You may not feel completely confident in talking to your child about this topic, but being someone your children can go to without judgment will make them more likely to be open with you about what is going on in their lives. Being someone they can trust and feel supported by is often more important than having the “right answer.”
