Way back in the late seventies, Smt. Swamy had her own ideas of a pre-school, after watching all her four grandkids reactions after joining preschools. She was a staunch advocate of a smaller society for pre-schoolers and play home children where they can learn how to play with others, expect reactions social skills, sharing, caring, mixing etc. while honing their other skills like speech and language development, interaction with peer group etc. Back in 1987, the dream of Seethaalakshmi K. Over time, a good number of the children who grew up in B.S.K. II Stage have gone on to bigger things after learning the basic social, cultural and academic skills under the loving, caring tutelage of Miki Ajji. The tradition is continued now by her daughter Padma S. K., M.A., B.Ed., with a P.G. diploma in Early Childhood & Special Education from the University of Cincinnati, U.S.A. and also a Karnataka State awardee.
35 years of experience in working with children, and more importantly the motivation to shape the young lives, has helped her to build on her mother’s vision.
