Meet our 2nd teller the charismatic Priya MuthuKumar .
Priya Muthukumar is a learner, educator, professional storyteller & the founder of the 13-yr-old storytelling company, Storipur®. With chaos & coffee always brewing in her life, she feels stories help her to find her 'calm'. As a taker of stories of different kinds, to various places, to several people, she feels content. As a translator in the children's lit space with around a dozen books in print, she has written stories for magazines on Nature too. Her vast experience in the space of professional storytelling has propelled her to present papers on STORYTELLING & stories in international conferences. She is a story-coach who has trained several groups of educators & professionals. Currently, she works as resource/guest faculty in several reputed colleges & educational institutions. She doesn't believe in just spinning yarns but she believes in spinning-safety nets and strings that bring people together.
Don't miss her fantastic storytelling.

Lying down beside my grandma, under the breeze of our noisy

Stories with wit, wisdom, morals; with Maharajas, witches,
stepmothers are part of our cultural heritage and so part of the
history and literature we ought to know.
We live in a remarkable age of television and space flights, tower
blocks and instant foods, with an increasing need to appreciate and
revive things that were enjoyed by our grandfathers and
grandmothers. Story-telling is one such aspect, which needs to
regain its losing lustre. Storipur aims to do so!!
Our story-telling sessions kindle abstract-thinking (what did
freedom mean to Hansel and Gretel?), associative –thinking (what
would Goldilocks borrow from Little Red Riding Hood?), creative-
thinking in the listener’s minds. The sessions are designed based on
Howard Gardner’s Multiple- Intelligences Theory and the different
learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, visual).
Story-telling sessions at Storipur are intended for the entire
community, not just children………..who does’nt enjoy a story!?
Music and moves, concepts and thoughts, puppets and props, fun and
relaxation.. story-telling sessions at Storipur are meant to be
experiences!! Exploring and experiencing the different styles of
story-telling from different regions is something we, at Storipur are
working on. Sometimes, combined with art/ craft, sometimes with an
apt take-away, our sessions are collective and changing experiences-
no telling at Storipur is ever the same!
