75th Independence Day Celebrations

Please join us and listen to the most fascinating story of 'Nuclear Empowerment of India' , i.e. 'Operation Shakti : Pokhran-II' in May 1998, from the man who successfully led the Army Team in 'Operation Shakti'.

Chief Guest: Col Gopal Tippani Kaushik VSM (Retired)

(The Architect behind the Secrecy and Innovation of the immensely successful Nuclear Bomb Experiments at Pokhran in May 1998.)

'Operation Shakti' was the name given to the highly successful five Nuclear Bomb Test Explosions, conducted by a Combined Team consisting of Scientists from the Atomic Energy Commission {AEC, then headed by its Chairman, Padma Vibhushan Dr. R. Chidambaram, with Padma Vibhushan & Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, then Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, as his Deputy}, and the Defence Research and Development Organisation {DRDO headed by its then Director General, H/E Bharat Ratna (late) Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, with Padma Bhushan Dr K. Santhanam, Project Director 'Op Shakti', as his Deputy} and Soldiers of the Indian Army ( 58 Engineer Regiment, in particular, with Col Gopal T Kaushik as the Commanding Officer), on the 11th and 13th of May 1998. India became the word's sixth 'Nuclear Weapons Power'. India became the first 'Nuclear Weapons Power' in the world using totally indigenous material, as well as without signing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), with these experiments. The Army contingent for this Operation was led by Col Gopal T Kaushik VSM (Retd), our own person from Karnataka.
