हो तिमिर कितना भी गहरा;
हो रोशनी पे लाख पहरा;
सूर्य को उगना पड़ेगा,
फूल को खिलना पड़ेगा |

हो समय कितना भी भारी;
हमने न उम्मीद हारी;
दर्द को रुकना पड़ेगा,
रंज को रुकना पड़ेगा |

Happy 75th Independence Day everyone. 🇮🇳

Did you know?

On 15th August, on India's Independence Day, the tricolour🇮🇳, our national flag is "hoisted", whereas on the 26th January, that is, on our Republic Day, it is "unfurled".

What is the difference between hoisting the flag and unfurling the same?

Well, on 15th August, the flag is kept folded, down at the middle of the flagpole, and is pulled up at the tip of the pole before it is spread out. This is the hoisting of a flag. It signifies the country was freed after a span of colonial domination. On the other hand, on 26th January (since 1950) the tricolour is unfurled, that is, the flag stays high up at the tip of the flagpole, (not at the middle or lower height of the pole) folded, and is spread out with the pull of the rope. This is unfurling of the tricolour. It signifies that as a flag of an already free country, it cannot stay hung at a lower height, but is held high above.

There are no shortcuts to places worth going!

It's the story of Odysseus (hero) in Homer’s epic poem Odyssey which tells about his voyage back to Ithaca (his homeland).

One of the main obstacles he encounters on his way was SIRENS.

Siren, in Greek Mythology, is half bird & half women who lured sailors with their enchanting songs & if a man fell for it, then they would experience tragedy.

Odysseus instructed his men to put bee-wax in their ears so that they couldn't hear these songs. He himself would be the only one who would hear the songs & so instructed his men to tie him to the mast & not to relax the ropes, even he would beg for it.

Plan worked & overcoming the temptations of Sirens, they completed their journey.

Odysseus knew what he wanted, but he also knew his limitations. So he made a commitment and ties himself down.

These Sirens signify the everyday temptations we face. Sometimes our will power is also not enough to counter this. Just by taking advantage of good intentions in present & building in smart ways to adhere, we can improve our odds resisting temptation in future & staying consistent with our goals.

The subtle hints you drop in your room like posters, targets, reminders, wallpapers in mobile etc. can do wonders to avoid these temptations.

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” ~ Mother Teresa

No one really operates in an isolated manner. We play a daily role in a system that includes all the stakeholders. Each action we make, large or small, has a ripple effect. The problem here is, it is not visible many a times and people lose their way due to impatience.

Each one of has our own share of difficulties we face in life and particularly in attaining a goal we have dreamt of.

But rebound every time and keep moving. That's a mantra of life, I have deciphered.

As Dr. K.K. Agarwal said in his last video ~
" Show must go on".
