This week, IIM Bangalore is celebrating International Women’s Day to recognize the strength, resilience and achievements of women within our community.
Over the next few days, the Institute will host a series of events, diverse in format and focus, bringing the community together for thoughtful conversations on how we can continue to empower people of all identities and reduce barriers across different spheres of life.
Starting on a creative note, the celebrations began with collage-making and painting activities on campus.

The Hostel & Mess Committee of PGP and PGPBA Class of 2026 hosted ‘Sneha Varsha’ to express their thanks to IIMB’s Hostel & Mess staff.
The annual event is dedicated to honouring the diligent hostel and mess staff who work tirelessly to ensure that the campus remains a comfortable, welcoming and nourishing home to nearly 2000 students.
The event concluded with the distribution of tokens of appreciation in a spirit of gratitude.

We are excited to share that IIM Bangalore, with the support of its innovation and entrepreneurship hub – , has launched the IIMB B-Founders Program. The structured fellowship is designed to enable graduating PGP, PGPBA and EPGP students of IIMB to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions full-time.
The program seeks to reduce the opportunity cost of choosing a startup path over conventional placements by offering a stipend, incubation support, mentorship and the option of placement deferment.
“With B-Founders, we are making a more deliberate commitment to our graduating students who want to build from day zero”, said Prof. Srivardhini K. Jha, Chairperson, NSRCEL, and faculty in the Entrepreneurship area. “Fellows receive a two-year stipend from the Institute, along with the option to defer placements so they can pursue innovation with focus and conviction”, she added.

With the PGP and PGPBA approaching graduation, 2026 brought together students and faculty for an evening of reflection, encouragement and guidance at the Institute’s Open-Air-Theatre.
The annual student-led tradition, organized by the Students’ Academic Committee, invites professors to share life lessons with students in the final stages of their IIMB academic journey. This year’s speakers included Prof. Jitamitra Desai, Decision Sciences area, Prof. Shubha Patvardhan, Strategy area and Prof. Apurva Sanaria, OB&HRM area, while Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Director In-charge, IIMB, opened the evening with reflections on self-awareness, compassion and the pursuit of a meaningful life.
Through personal insights and thought-provoking frameworks, the faculty spoke about navigating ambition and balance, cultivating craftsmanship and purpose in one’s work, and building a distinctive professional identity rooted in values and high standards. Their messages encouraged students to think about where they seek go next, and about the kind of people and leaders they aspire to become.

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion at IIM Bangalore and The Association of People with Disability (APD, India) jointly convened Purple Manthan, a national dialogue marking a decade of the RPwD Act 2016 and advancing pathways for disability-inclusive development. Aligned with the theme for the World Day of Social Justice, ‘Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice,’ the convening brought together policymakers, academia, practitioners, and civil society members to assess progress and accelerate multisectoral collaboration.
In the welcome address, Mr. Jacob Kurian, Honorary Secretary, APD, reflected on the RPwD Act 2016 as a milestone in India’s journey toward equality and underscored accessibility as the foundational condition for participation. Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Dean, Faculty, IIMB, highlighted the need for alignment in institutional capability, inclusive enterprise, and technology to scale access without diluting the mission.
In her Guest of Honor address, Mrs. Manmeet Nanda, Additional Secretary, DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, emphasized administrative simplification, ecosystem convergence, and expanding pathways for skilling, employment, and entrepreneurship. She noted, “Disability need not be addressed as charity.”
The valedictory on ‘The Manthan: Key Takeaways & Way Forward’ session was led by Prof. Anil B. Suraj, Chairperson, Diversity & Inclusivity Committee and NSR Pre-doc, IIMB. A key milestone was the launch of a Resource Book on Accessibility in Educational Institutions, offering practical guidance to strengthen inclusive learning environments. The dialogue continued through thematic tracks on livelihoods, accessibility, and governance to translate commitments into measurable, system-level impact.

We are pleased to share that IIMB has successfully completed the extension of treated recycled water supply to garden areas across the campus, including residential zones, marking another significant step in our commitment to sustainable resource management and water conservation.
The project, executed by the Estate Team, involved overcoming complex technical constraints, ensuring that existing services and trees remained undisturbed. Following successful trials, the system is now fully operational and will contribute to reducing dependence on potable water for landscaping needs.
Over the years, sustained efforts to enhance biodiversity have transformed the IIMB campus into a verdant oasis amid the urban landscape of South Bengaluru. Initiatives such as recycled water utilization play an important role in sustaining this balance and we remain committed to nurturing the vibrant ecosystem that calls our campus home.

IIM Bangalore’s Executive Post Graduate Programme ( ) has strengthened its global standing with the release of the Financial Times (FT) MBA Rankings 2026. The programme is now ranked #34 worldwide, rising significantly from #57 in 2025, and is placed #3 in India, further consolidating its position among the country’s leading MBA offerings.
In the 2026 assessment, the EPGP demonstrated notable strength across several key dimensions. It recorded an Aims Achieved score of 85%, among the highest achieved by Indian institutions. The programme also secured a global rank of #4 in Career Progress and #2 in India, was placed #24 worldwide for Value for Money, and achieved a Carbon Footprint rank of #21 globally and #1 in India.

Prayaas, the social responsibility initiative led by students of IIM Bangalore's Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), hosted Gratitude Day, a free health camp for IIMB's outsourced employees aged above 50, on 14th February. The event included free blood testing and ECG services for early diagnosis, offered as a gesture of gratitude to the community that supports the campus daily.

The Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) at IIM Bangalore will host its flagship business conclave , bringing together business, leadership, innovation, and community for discussions on pertinent and transformative new-age ideas.
The year’s edition, themed ‘Breaking the Mold: Entrepreneurship in the Age of Disruption’, will be held on 15 February at the IIMB campus.
Mr. Raj Kumar Dubey, Director – HR, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, will deliver the keynote on ‘Breaking the Mold: Building Businesses in an Age of Continuous Disruption’, held from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM.

IIM Bangalore, in collaboration with Vikasana, the social impact club at IIMB, organised the Republic Day Scholarship distribution ceremony on 2 February 2026, celebrating education, inclusion, and opportunity.
This year, 215 students from the families of IIMB’s non-teaching staff were awarded scholarships of ₹4,000 each, with a total disbursement of ₹8.6 lakh. The initiative supports 111 boys and 104 girls.
The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and was graced by the presence of Prof. M Jayadev, Dean, Administration; Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Director In-charge, IIMB; Cdr. Ajaya Kumar S, Chief Administrative Officer, IIMB; and Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chairperson, EEP and CCGS.
Beyond scholarships, Vikasana continues to work towards skill development, career mentorship, and competitive exam coaching, creating long-term impact for students and families.

We are pleased to share that the IIMB has been awarded First Prize in the Ornamental Garden Competition conducted by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka, on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.
The award, presented by Dr. Pradeep Kenjige, Botanist and eminent writer, is a reflection of the consistent efforts, dedication, and teamwork of our Horticulture Team, which includes Mahesh Patil, Sr. Manager, Horticulture & Housekeeping, and Namitha Rani, Project Executive, Horticulture, who have consistently maintained and enhanced the campus gardens to a high standard.
