Messy play is the open-ended exploration of materials and their properties. Activities like squishing clay, pouring sand, and sorting things allow children to repeat and experiment as they like . Children are naturally curious, and messy play engages their senses at a developmental level that is appropriate for them.
Here is a sneak peek at out little toddlers enjoying different activities during the week.

The arts draw on a range of skills and abilities that encourage the development of academic, social, and personal skills in addition to specific artistic techniques. It is a great channel for students to express and communicate their ideas and to think about problems from a wider perspective.
The purpose of the Celebration of the Arts Day is to highlight our students' creative ambition and drive and to give them a chance to showcase their hard work and inspiration. Since creativity and innovation do not come in a single form or medium, our showcase highlights student work from a diverse range of genres.

Vedic Lore celebrated their Art's Festival along with Parent's Day today. Our Vedic Lore Community not only had a complete visual bonanza but also thoroughly enjoyed themselves reliving their childhood. Here's a peek at what was in store for all of them today.

Vedic Lore observed Literary Week with an array of activities through the week from 20th to 24th February, 2023. This week is observed to ignite and fuel new interest in reading, creative writing etc. Our little ones at the pre primary level participated in their own special way on each day. The activities were planned to hone listening and verbal skills, decision making, creativity, abstract thinking etc and the week turned out to be an extremely engaging experience mixing learning with fun for the children.

Our kiddos who have a liking for nature observation! Imagine connecting it to the book “It looked like spilt milk”! That’s how our book projects are structured !

Our literacy week that is ongoing has witnessed so many parents acrosss programs, coming to Vedic Lore and reading / presenting/ acting out so many wonderful books for the little ones! Our children were in awe of the lovely activities the parents presented to them!
We thank our amazing parents for keeping up the early childhood playway spirit and spreading the joy amongst all of us 😊

What Is Play?
(Definition of Play by Peter Gray, Ph.D. and Other Researchers)

"Play is best understood as an activity that is:
(a) freely chosen and directed by the players),
(b) intrinsically motivated (conducted for its own sake rather than some reward outside of itself),
(c) structured by rules within the player’s mind,
(d) always creative and usually imaginative, and
(e) conducted in an active, alert, but relatively non-stressed frame of mind."
~ Peter Gray Ph.D., Author of Freedom to Learn

Great Article - https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/freedom-learn/202205/what-is-play-how-children-define-it

Peter Gray, Ph.D., is a research professor at Boston College, author of Free to Learn and the textbook Psychology (now in 8th edition), and founding member of the nonprofit Let Grow.

We are, essentially, stealing from children when they are forced to train for the future instead of allowing them to play in the now. Trust in play. – Suzanne Axelsson
