.techgrant Education becomes truly inclusive when learning speaks the language of the child.
Founded with the belief that every child deserves meaningful education, Meghshala Trust has worked to bridge gaps in access, pedagogy, and cultural relevance for tribal and rural communities. In Sikkim, the organisation partnered with teachers to reimagine classrooms through tech-enabled learning tools aligned with NEP and SCERT frameworks. Being HCLTech Grant winners in 2023; multilingual digital content was developed, teacher capacities were strengthened, and four endangered languages—Lepcha, Limbu, Bhutia, and Nepali were revived within the learning process. Reaching over 63,000 students and 2,700 teachers across 700 government schools, the initiative ensured that technology complemented tradition rather than replacing it. Beyond infrastructure and curriculum, the approach restored pride in language, culture, and identity something felt deeply by families and communities alike.
The HCLTech Grant enabled this transformation by offering not just funding, but trust and long-term partnership. By supporting innovation rooted in culture and classrooms, the Grant helped scale a model that is now recognised and embedded within Sikkim’s education system.
