Space in Space is Power
Artemis accords and outer space treaty invariably binds us and rest of the world to principles of fairness when it comes to space exploration in general and moon in particular. No one can claim territorial ownership. Still, nothing in the two agreements prevents us from the peaceful exploration and responsible exploitation of resources of the space. If the South Pole of moon as understood by scientists is really an untapped reservoir of huge quantities of moon water, we have striked no less than a gold mine (given the multiple uses of water on moon including cooling of our space systems on moon) and if the space science advances to the point of converting that water inter alia to oxygen, one may wonder what it is to have your footprint in the South Pole of the moon.

17 Minutes of Terror
Every scientist of the space knows a thing about it, in fact, clearer than any well-informed layman or even an amateur space enthusiast. That, the space is unforgiving. With the learning still fresh from the past failure, our scientists are taking no chances with the terminal descent part of the Chandrayaan. The meticulous manoeuvre to master the path where the gravitational pull of the moon matters the most is watched with nothing less than an end of the seat emotion. Initial preparation, velocity reduction, orientation shift, attitude hold phase, fire braking, final descent and the final touchdown (Altogether 17 minutes, let’s hope for the best, thankfully, Vikram also in place).

Poverty should go
On the eve of the day, when 76 years ago we had become independent from the clutches of colonial rule, we had a pledge and resolve to make our country great. No doubt we have made significant advancements on many fronts and frontiers and continue to passionately pursue what is yet to be realised and what remains unfulfilled. If there was a starting point to us on this journey, as we all very well know, was invariably combating the hunger and deprivation of our masses. How have we performed on that front is debatable but if the question can be reframed as ' Is the battle over’? then we know the obvious answer. It's time for every one of us to do our bit to redeem our pledge and more so as a matter of first thing first do what we have to do and what it takes to annihilate the deprivation.

ENHANCE HUMAN CAPITAL, NOT EXPLOIT IT
Coaching means different things to different people. Our inability to reach wider consensus on the meaning and scope of coaching only widens the gap between the Coaching in Action and any form of regulation that can hold it to necessary amount of account.
How are the standards of accountability to be arrived at? Fees, infrastructure, outcomes, coachee fulfilment – what should predominate or how they must get factored in the whole? While a wider debate is due on all of these 101 things that predate any scrutiny, coaching industry can and will do well to ask its conscience, as often as possible, are we enriching and enhancing the human capital?

DARKNESS to DARKNESS
Back then, a few centuries ago, the continent of Africa was described as dark by the civilising zealots pointing out to its enigmatic geography and demography. We are all very well aware of the scramble that followed leading to the geometrical colonial boundaries.
We held a different meaning in our minds for a very long time on the term ‘White Man’s Burden’. Much later did we realise what it actually meant, to be Confucius, post decolonisation. Africa was darker than before. Unscientific boundaries leading to perennial civil wars and conflicts, underdevelopment and colossal neglect of human being meant persistent poverty illiteracy and disease.

RETHINK on FREEBIES
Food and basic income are clearly cases of social justice, no one can deny it. Let's first appreciate the sensitivity and sensibility of the leadership behind it. Were electricity and bus travel really sought for free by anyone or was it simply a case of seduction for votes?
In a progressive state like Karnataka which ranks among the best performers by doing well both on social as well as economic fronts, did anyone really have a problem with paying bills or bus tickets? It is a sad fact to hear from someone like D.K Shivakumar who spearheaded the urban developmental works during the tenure of S. M Krishna as the CM, to be saying that the public works developments should wait for a while.
In subsidy more often than not, one can clearly see the case of misuse and mindlessness. What brings us to power can sometimes actually leave us powerless.

Nah to Nuh
Sanity, please prevail. Afterall we are all humans with those same imperfect sense organs creating false and misconceived notions of fear and insecurity (which is perfectly exploited by the vested interests unfortunately). Can we choose to grow beyond it? Can’t we focus more on things that actually matter for an aspirational country like ours to become a great power? Millions of our countrymen still suffer on the count of things as basic as Roti, kapada and makaan. No amount of mud-slinging and none of the dirty blame games are going to help matters. As an ancient civilisation that was a birth place of some of the major religions of the world, isn’t it our duty as Indians to be the torch bearers of the values of humanity and religious tolerance?

Secure Growth? Really
Age old saying ‘uncomfort zone is the growth zone’ applies to every aspect of growth including the economics. People who want their earnings to be anything more than the savings sans inflation tax are in constant look out for avenues that promise geometric progression in the financial gains. Growth invariably has risks embedded in it. When IL&FS and Deewan demonstrated the magnitude and intensity of risks, lessons were in plethora. To ignore those lessons is to boldly and willingly invite the risks once again, either in Margadarshi or elsewhere. One wonders, how to have a successful marriage of safety and growth especially when it comes to hard earned and well-intentioned Vital M.

Travel Intelligence
Travel intelligence has different meanings to different people. To a service provider it may have to do with the collection and analysis of travel data that can help him in making better decisions with reference to service commitments and delivery. To a consumer it may have to do with ease and grace one experiences in travelling, thanks to the extensive usage of artificial intelligence systems by service providers. And, to a wiser and responsible tourist like you and me, shouldn’t it mean sustainable consumption of pristine ecological goods and services without polluting or degrading the Environment? Isn’t that travel intelligence of a higher order?

Have you seen God?
The same question was asked by the young and aspiring Narendra to Debendranath Tagore during his days with Brahmo Samaj. The latter praised the man’s inquisitiveness and said nothing else. And this time, when the same question was asked to Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he replied without hesitation that he had seen God but only more clearly than he could see the questioner. Well, the seeds were sown and the fruits of which we experience today even when their roots much older than the seeds itself, once again germinated to serve the mankind. Swami Vivekananda would later point out - Education is the manifestation of perfection already present in man.

SOLIDARITY TAX
Are we ready for something close to it? Can we use the simpler and more debatable word for it by calling it, the wealth tax? Why shouldn’t we if we have had a bonhomie with property tax for so much long time? Why shouldn’t we if K-shaped recovery is piling up more proofs and evidences? And finally, why shouldn’t we if we are a country with close to 180 dollar billionaires. Time to ponder and probably time to will and act.
