Nithish Krishnan, a former MBA student (2013-2015) from Kerala, talks about his time at CMR and how it helped him join his dream company and meet his idol, Mr. Ratan Tata.
“CMR is a name which always gives me extra energy. In fact the college has played such a great role in making me what I'm now. Faculty members were very supportive and they constantly motivated us to achieve our goals. Teachers such as Mr. Srinivasan, Mr. Hrishikesh, Mrs. Sindhu and Mrs. Priya were my favourite.
The coaching, presentations, team works, soft skills training by the CMR Life Skills Institute were the standards which mould my generation in such a way that we will be able to create our own footprint in the society. Those factors directly influenced me and helped me develop my persona."
During his time at the CMR Centre for Business Studies, Nithish was awarded for "Best Student - Outstanding Behaviour".
In December 2015, Nithish met Mr. Ratan Tata at his office in Mumbai: “Ratan Naval Tata, The Living Legend who turned around the fortunes of India’s own Tata Group of Companies. He is extremely patriotic and his love for India is widely known. I deeply admire Mr. Ratan N. Tata. I was blessed to meet Ratanji at his office on 23rd December 2015, after maintaining electronic communication with him over 8 years. It was a wonderful experience and honour to meet him in person.”
Nithish says that Mr. Tata humbly received the CMR alumnus at his own office in Mumbai, after the latter’s persistent requests. Nithish listened to Mr. Tata speak of his own student days in the United States, before being offered some sound advice to develop his own career.
