Allow your child to be bored. Stop filling your child’s entire day with things to do.

Only when they have nothing to do will they think for themselves. Their creative muscle will come to play as they learn to engage themselves. They will become more observant of things around them and develop an eye to identify problems and find solutions.

Free time is the best gift of childhood. Let them enjoy it.

As a part of our field visit, we had Cane Basket Weavers come down to our school to teach children this unique skill.

Our aim was to promote sustainability while teaching children to respect the craft these local vendors have offered for years.

Modular wooden blocks give children unlimited scope of play. Every unit is carefully crafted with precision to ensure children never run out of a unit.

This material holds immense value in our block room as it encourages collaborative play and stimulates their creativity.

As a part of our Language week, we had various activities planned to enhance children’s language skills and see their growth so far in second language.

One of the activities was Origami. One group of children had to give instructions to the other group of children in their respective second language without demonstrating.

It was amazing to see how children were carefully picking words, translating the instruction in Kannada/Hindi and trying their best to explain it to their friends.

Self-correction in Montessori isn’t just with respect to materials, it is into everything. It’s to allow children to realise and form their own sense of right and wrong.

Our role as adults is to observe and bring in interventions that help children realise right and wrong on their own. This one excerpt from my Montessori training under Frau Maria Roth really stuck with me and has become a way we imbibe the spirit of Montessori in Eklavya

Every time we meet an educationist, their passion and enthusiasm really inspired us. This is why even we strive towards giving back to the society by embodying this spirit of education and share everything we know freely.

Frau was one such person, even at 90+ age she had so much enthusiasm to show us and explain the Froebel method of education. Language barriers Age nothing stopped her from creating a deep impact on our hearts.
