The Department of Mathematics is pleased to organize the **Mathematics Foundation Course for Beginners**, a specially designed training programme to strengthen the mathematical fundamentals of newly admitted First-Year B.E. students.

The programme aims to facilitate a **smooth transition from Pre-University/12th Standard Mathematics to Engineering Mathematics** by strengthening conceptual understanding, analytical skills, mathematical confidence, and problem-solving abilities.

Day 5 – First Year B.E. Induction Programme 2026–27

Day 5 of the First Year B.E. Induction Programme 2026–27 at K.S. School of Engineering and Management was an engaging blend of art, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and cultural activities.

🎨 Art and Its Impact on Career
Mr. Chidanand, Mr. Keerthi & Mr. Shreedhar

The session highlighted the importance of art, creativity, and self-expression in personal and professional development. Mr. Chidanand introduced students to the traditional musical instrument Morsing, Mr. Keerthi presented the richness of Carnatic Music, and Mr. Shreedhar, a Theatre Artist, engaged students through theatre and creative expression. The session encouraged students to discover and nurture their artistic talents alongside technical education.

The second session provided students with valuable insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, opportunities, and real-world challenges, inspiring them to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

🤝 NSS Orientation – Mr. Prashanth
The session introduced students to the National Service Scheme (NSS) and emphasized the importance of community service, social responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and active citizenship.

🎭 Cultural Session – Mr. Keerthi & Team
The cultural session created an energetic atmosphere and encouraged students to explore and showcase their talents, creativity, and active participation in campus life.

Day 4 of the First Year B.E. Induction Programme 2026–27 at K.S. School of Engineering and Management offered students a valuable combination of academic orientation, technical exposure, and student engagement.

📘 Insights on VTU CBCS Academic Framework – Dr. Swarna S
The first session provided students with a comprehensive overview of the VTU academic framework, including the curriculum structure, credit system, Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE), Semester End Examination (SEE), and other important academic guidelines. The session helped students gain clarity about their academic journey under VTU.

⚡ IEEE Student Club Activity
The second session introduced students to the IEEE Student Club, highlighting opportunities for technical learning, innovation, professional networking, skill development, and participation in various technical activities.

🤝 Rotaract Club Activity
The third session introduced students to the Rotaract Club and its activities, emphasizing leadership, teamwork, community service, social responsibility, and personal development.

Day 3 of the First Year B.E. Induction Programme 2026–27 at K.S. School of Engineering and Management featured insightful and engaging sessions focusing on students’ mental well-being, personal development, and awareness of institutional facilities.

🧠 Empowering Minds – Ms. Vani Mitti, Psychologist
Through two interactive sessions, Ms. Vani Mitti guided students on developing a positive mindset, self-awareness, emotional well-being, confidence, and a balanced approach towards their academic journey. The activities and interactions made the sessions engaging and meaningful for the students.

📚 Introductory Session – Dr. Ambika C., HOD–Librarian
The session introduced students to the library facilities, resources, and services available at the institution and encouraged them to make effective use of these resources throughout their engineering education.

✨ Day 3 provided a meaningful blend of self-development, interaction, and academic orientation, helping students begin their engineering journey with confidence and enthusiasm.

An interactive session introducing students to the LEO Club, its activities, opportunities for student involvement, teamwork, leadership, and community engagement.

The sessions encouraged our first-year students to explore technology, develop a positive mindset, and actively participate in campus life beyond academics.
