Empowering Women Farmers through Agripreneurship!

Team NaaViC, ICAR-NIVEDI organized the training programme on “Empowering Women Farmers through Agripreneurship: Scientific Processing, Value Addition, Branding and Market Linkage of Agri-Horticultural Crops for Sustainable Livelihood Security”, in collaboration with ICAR-JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Suttur, Mysuru on 3rd September,2026.

60 farmers participated in the programme, gaining insights into scientific processing, value addition, branding, and effective market linkages for agri-horticultural produce.

The programme emphasized how value addition and entrepreneurship can help women farmers move beyond primary production and build sustainable, market-oriented enterprises. Participants were encouraged to explore innovative ways to enhance the value of their produce, improve market access, generate additional income, and strengthen their livelihoods.
Through such capacity-building initiatives, NaaViC, ICAR-NIVEDI continues to support farmers and rural communities in transforming agricultural opportunities into viable enterprises and fostering a stronger agripreneurship ecosystem.

Empowering Women Farmers through Agripreneurship!

Team NaaViC, ICAR-NIVEDI organized the training programme on “Empowering Women Farmers through Agripreneurship: Scientific Processing, Value Addition, Branding and Market Linkage of Agri-Horticultural Crops for Sustainable Livelihood Security”, in collaboration with ICAR-JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Suttur, Mysuru on 3rd September,2026.

Two-Day Entrepreneurship Development Program on “Desi Cow-Based Entrepreneurship”

KVAFSU–Veterinary College, Gadag, in collaboration with NaaViC Agri-Business Incubation Center, ICAR-NIVEDI, Bengaluru, conducted a Two-Day Entrepreneurship Development Program on “Desi Cow-Based Entrepreneurship” from 27–28 August 2026.

The program was attended by 30 participants from various districts, including farmers, youth, and professionals. Dr. B. Ramachandra, Dean, Veterinary College, Gadag, graced the occasion as President, while Dr. Y. Jendi, Deputy Director, Veterinary Polyclinic, Department of AHVS, Gadag, inaugurated the program.

Faculty members of Veterinary College, Gadag, and successful Desi Cow entrepreneurs served as resource persons. The program included technical lectures, presentations, group discussions, method demonstrations, and field visits.

Participants were exposed to various entrepreneurial opportunities in Desi Cow rearing, including milk and milk products, cow urine and dung-based enterprises, and indigenous breed promotion. Key action points were also identified for future collaborative activities involving the participants and stakeholders.

Team NaaViC conducted an Agripreneurship Development Program for 80 second-year B.Com students from Don Bosco College, who visited NaaViC, ICAR-NIVEDI as part of their exposure to the startup and innovation ecosystem.

The session introduced the students to the concepts of startups, incubation, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on opportunities in the agriculture and allied sectors. The students were encouraged to understand how their knowledge and skills in commerce and business can be leveraged to address challenges and create opportunities in these sectors.

The session emphasized the importance of thinking differently, identifying real-world problems, developing innovative solutions, and exploring entrepreneurship as a career pathway. Students were also sensitized to how ventures in agriculture and allied sectors can contribute to employment generation, innovation, economic growth, and ultimately to the development of the country.

On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2026, Team NaaViC successfully organized an IPR Awareness Program for scientists, staff, and students on 29th April 2026, aligned with the global theme “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate.”

The program aimed to sensitize participants to the growing importance of intellectual property rights (IPR) in fostering innovation, particularly within the dynamic and rapidly evolving domain of sports. It brought together a diverse audience, creating an engaging platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on how intellectual property supports creativity, technological advancement, and competitive advantage.

The sessions were thoughtfully delivered by Nagarjun M G and Sarasija Padmanabhan, who provided valuable insights into the intersection of IPR and sports. Their presentations highlighted how innovations in sports ranging from equipment design and performance analytics to branding and broadcasting are protected and leveraged through various forms of intellectual property and the session on “Introduction to Patent Prior Art Search and Databases,” which equipped participants with practical knowledge on navigating patent databases, understanding prior art, and assessing the novelty of innovations.

The sessions collectively encouraged participants to deep dive into the fundamentals of IPR, understand its strategic importance, and recognize its application not only in sports but across multiple sectors including agriculture, biotechnology, and technology-driven enterprises.

On 22nd April,2026, Team NaaViC organized an Agripreneurship Awareness Program at the College of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya, engaging second- and third-year students in an interactive session focused on entrepreneurship in agriculture. The program aimed to broaden students’ perspectives on emerging career avenues and introduce them to the support systems available for aspiring agripreneurs.

The session highlighted how the agricultural sector is transitioning towards innovation-driven models, creating opportunities in areas such as value addition, agri-tech, and sustainable enterprises. Students were introduced to NaaViC’s role in supporting early-stage ideas through incubation, mentorship, and access to relevant programs and funding opportunities.
With around 60 students in attendance, the program fostered active discussions and encouraged participants to think creatively about developing solutions that can contribute meaningfully to the agricultural ecosystem.

An Agripreneurship Awareness Program was conducted at the College of Forestry, Ponnampet on 22nd April 2026 for second- and third-year students, with the objective of sensitizing them to the wide range of opportunities available for student entrepreneurs through various government initiatives. The session also provided an overview of NaaViC’s activities, incubation support, and the different programs designed to nurture innovative ideas into viable ventures.

Forestry, as a discipline, offers immense potential for developing unique, sustainable, and scalable solutions—ranging from value addition and eco-based enterprises to conservation-driven business models. Students were encouraged to think beyond conventional career paths and explore entrepreneurship as a meaningful and impactful option.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 100 students attending and actively engaging in the session.
