Gokulashtami: A Day of Devotion, Music and Celebration
Dear Rasikas,
Gokulashtami was celebrated in a very special way yesterday under the Utsav Unnati banner, with a day filled with devotion, music and joyful participation.
The Narayaneeyam chanting began at 8.00 am and continued till 3.30 pm, led by Smt. Saraswathi Gopalakrishnan and her group. Their chanting was marked by tremendous gusto, clarity and devotion, creating a wonderful spiritual atmosphere through the day.
The evening brought something completely different and very special — our first Bhajan Jamming / Clubbing session with Smt. Savita Sreeram. What began with a little initial hesitation gradually transformed into an evening of complete involvement. With gentle nudges from Savitaji and, more importantly, the enthusiastic participation of everyone present, the two hours simply flew by. By the end, the entire hall was immersed in the music and dance. It was a wonderful experiment for Utsav, and one that we believe has now found a permanent place in our programmes for the future.
The night pooja and bhajans by Manjapra Sri. Mohan and team were simply outstanding. On one side was the beautiful pooja and abhishekam; on the other, a musical treat as Manjapra Sri. Mohan took us through a wonderful selection of bhajans. Together, they made the celebration of Lord Krishna's birth truly memorable.
And the celebrations continue today. We have Ashtapadi in the day, followed by four dance performances in the evening and Divyanamam at night.
Tomorrow brings us to the concluding day of this year's series with the Radha Kalyanam.
A big thank you to all of you for your enthusiastic participation, your presence and for making Utsav Unnati a celebration that truly belongs to all of us. 🙏
Team Unnati
