Congratulations to Aditi on clearing Technical General! ✈️

With just 15 days of focused classes, structured revision and regular mock exams, she was able to prepare with clarity and confidence.

At WingPath Aviation Academy, our focus is not just on covering the syllabus — it’s on helping students understand, revise, practise and walk into their exams better prepared.

One subject cleared. One step closer to the cockpit. ❤️

Before GPS, how did pilots know where they were going?

Long before satellites became part of everyday navigation, pilots relied on landmarks, direction, radio navigation and onboard instruments to stay on course.

From roads and landmarks to radio signals, accelerometers and gyroscopes — aviation navigation has come a long way.

From finding the way to knowing exactly where you are.

What aviation topic should we break down next?

Bengaluru to London. Shortest path on Earth. And the aircraft is turning the entire time. ✈️🌍

Depart BLR on a true heading of roughly 320°… arrive over London at roughly 271°.
Nobody touched the controls to make that happen.

A great circle crosses every meridian at a different angle — so the true heading changes continuously. Constant heading is the rhumb line, and the rhumb line is the longer way round.

Answer: it changes continuously (decreases from ~320° to ~271°).

Save this one — it shows up in Nav every single session. 📌

Why does the shortest route between two cities look like a detour on the map?

Not a trick question. And if you’ve only memorised “great circle = shortest, rhumb line = constant heading,” you’ll get one version of this on the paper and lose marks on every other version.

Swipe for what’s actually happening. Six slides, no jargon.

The map isn’t drawing the route wrong. It’s drawing the Earth wrong — and it has to, because you can’t flatten a sphere without distorting something.

This is how we teach Navigation: the concept underneath, not the answer on top.
