A room full of new faces, a new core team, and a lot to look forward to. 💙

The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Student Chapter at JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University) came together for its inauguration.

Faculty Coordinator Dr N.R. Solomon Jebaraj welcomed the students and spoke about ACM, what it stands for, and the opportunities students can explore through the chapter.

The new core team then took up their roles across technical activities, social media, research and public relations.

There was plenty of excitement in the room as students met their teams, took on new responsibilities and got to know what the year ahead could look like.

A quiet corner, a good book, and time to read. 📚

The JAIN Learning Resource Centre came alive with the Sanskrit-IKS Readathon, organised with the Department of Languages (Sanskrit Area).

Students browsed the collection, picked books that caught their interest, and spent time reading and exploring topics across Sanskrit literature and Indian Knowledge Systems. They also submitted book reading assignments based on their selections.

Students from different courses came together over something simple: a book and the time to read it. ✨

From the metal to the mission 🚀

What does it take to make aerospace systems work in the real world?

Our Aerospace Engineering students explored this through expert sessions at JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University).

🔩 Materials matter. Prof. Prakash D. Mangalgiri explained how titanium alloys, superalloys and coatings handle extreme heat and stress in jet engines.

📐 Standards matter too. Dr Ravi Rajamani of Enhanced Propulsion Technologies discussed safety, certification and trust in aerospace systems.

🛰️ Then comes the mission. Shri H. D. Ananda, Former Group Director at ISRO, spoke about satellite control stations and space operations, in association with the Aeronautical Society of India and QUASARS Club.

What starts with a “what if?” can go a long way. 💡

Our first-year students stepped into the Spark2Start Bootcamp at the Jayanagar Campus for a day of exploring ideas, spotting opportunities and working through real-world problems.

The quadrangle was filled with conversations, sketches, questions and plenty of brainstorming as faculty guided students through the activities.

There were no perfect business plans to begin with. Students started with observations, questions and ideas, then worked with their groups to see where they could take them.

This is CRAFT: Spark2Start, the APPLY stage of Mr Jain’s Future Leaders Programme, where students get to put their ideas into action.

Twenty-four students. One factory floor. Plenty to see. 🚗⚙️

Students from our EEE Spark Club visited Ashok Leyland, Hosur Unit 2, to see how the vehicles they study in theory come together on the production floor.

They watched the assembly process, saw automation and quality checks in action, and spoke with industry professionals about how things work at each stage.

It was a day of real machines, plenty of questions and a closer look at what engineering looks like on the factory floor. 🔧

From debates to poetry, Hindi Pakhwada 2026 gave students many ways to find their voice.

Organised by the Hindi Parishad, School of Sciences, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), the week brought together around 200+ students through activities including Atmanirbhar Yuva, Debate, 90 Seconds of Fame, Besh Mein Sandesh, Kavya Goshti, a Goushala Visit and a National Webinar.

A special highlight was the release of “एहसास 2.0”, a collection of Hindi poems written by students and teachers.

The week concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, celebrating the participation and achievements of students across the different events.

A closer look at the work happening in India’s space sector. 🚀

Students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), visited the Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2026 at BIEC.

They explored exhibits by Agnikul Cosmos, Skyroot Aerospace, Bellatrix Aerospace, Pixxel, Dhruva Space, Digantara and GalaxEye, along with industry players such as HAL, TASL and L&T.

Satellites, launch vehicles, propulsion systems and avionics were among the technologies they saw at the expo, connecting what they learn in class with work happening across the space sector.

Students also had conversations with engineers and startup founders about their work and career opportunities in the industry.

A day spent exploring, asking questions and getting a closer look at the space sector. 🌌

The next 24 hours were about building, testing and refining.

Teams coded, designed, tested, debugged and worked on their solutions before presenting them.

They were supported by 65+ faculty coordinators, 150+ student volunteers and 4 non-teaching staff throughout the challenge.
Thirteen JAIN alumni judges evaluated the teams, interacted with the students and shared insights from their professional experience.

The hackathon gave students the opportunity to work within a deadline, solve problems as a team and apply what they had learned.

And that’s a wrap on 24 hours of ideas, code, chaos and a lot of teamwork. 💻🙌

What can everyday waste become when you look at it differently?

The Department of Psychology, School of Sciences, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), explored this idea through “Building Sustainable Minds,” an Environmental Psychology Model Exhibition.

Four student groups used recycled, reusable and discarded materials to create models around sustainability, environmental behaviour, risk perception and human-environment interaction.

The exhibition gave students a chance to take concepts from the classroom and turn them into something they could build, explain and discuss.
