“The state government seems to have a completely different plan charted out for Hesaraghatta. Once a preferred destination for Kannada movie-makers, the state government plans to build a film city in a 150-acre plot in Hesaraghatta. This plan was mooted 30 years ago by former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde and has been on and off the table”
The state government systematically destroyed the Government Film and Television Institute, an educational institution whose mission was to provide subsidised film education for the marginalised.
Despite of all the students protests happened, government plans to privatise it , destroy the life, soul and heart of the grasslands in the name of a film city.

"If one room in your house is on fire, can you sleep in another room?
If there is a co**se in one room, can you sing in another?
If co**ses are rotting in one room, can you pray in another?
If your answer is yes, then I have nothing to say to you...
In this world, there is nothing greater than a human life...
..not God, not knowledge, not elections and not the Constitution.
Any decree written in their name can be torn and buried deep in earth.
Remember..one child's murder, one woman's wounded spirit, one man's body riddled with bullets is not the downfall of a regime, its the downfall of entire Country
One more word...
Never forgive a murderer...Though he may be your friend
A custodian of religion or a guardian of democracy
Never forgive a murderer..."

Synopsis
The communal violence between Hindus and Muslims in Hyderabad during 1984 forms the backdrop for this film. The filmmakers set out to document the Ganesh Chathurthi processions that were taken out by local BJP units, and which often ignited long-standing tensions between the two religious communities. The particular procession that they were following set off riots that lasted for twenty-two days. The film therefore uses this event to identify the ways in which fascist organisations work to foster conflict in the city, building on conditions of economic precarity.
Will be screened from 7th August 2020 Friday , 6 PM to 10th August 2020, 12 AM as a part of our weekend screening. Please follow this link https://rb.gy/cyvraq
