Induced Wastefulness (PIW): A Silent Epidemic I See Every Week

As a working closely with teenagers college students and Young Adults, I wish I could say this post is exaggerated.

But it’s not.

What I see in my sessions isn’t laziness, it’s a generation struggling with basic life skills, not because they aren’t smart, but because they were bubble-wrapped in the name of love.

Here’s what that looks like👇

✴️Ria, 19, drops out mid-course, “It doesn’t feel right anymore.”

Quitting came easy. Every time she felt discomfort as a child, her parents said, “It’s okay, you can stop.”

✴️Aarav, 21, avoids internships,“Work culture is too toxic.”

His school projects? Always a team effort with his parents. Now he’s afraid of showing up at all.

✴️Tanvi, 17, breaks down over one bad grade.

She’s never failed before. Not because she’s perfect, but because failure was never allowed in her home.

✴️Dev, 15, wants a new phone every year.

Grew up never hearing a ‘No’. Now, when the world doesn’t give in, he thinks it’s unfair.

⚠️ What starts as "gentle parenting" often ends as crippled coping.

No struggle.
No sweat.
No setbacks.

Then suddenly, college, competition, chaos… and they collapse.

As a mentor, I can guide, counsel, and support.
But I cannot undo 18 years of being raised in a comfort cocoon.

🎯 Real love is not about removing pain, it’s about building strength.

Let them fall.
Let them clean up.
Let them face the music before the world plays it loud.

💥 Because when you protect them from everything, you unknowingly prepare them for nothing.

Let’s raise resilient kids, not just soft-hearted adults with short circuits at the first sign of .

As a parent of a 10th standard student, I understand the immense pressure and stress that exams can bring.

Every student strives to excel and secure good marks, yet each child possesses unique talents and the potential to shape their own future.

As parents, it's crucial to provide unwavering support and nurture our children's confidence during these challenging times.

Here are some tips to help both parents and students manage exam pressure and promote academic success:

Parental Support during exams

Nourishment through Food:

Offer nutritious meals such as whole-grain sandwiches, fresh fruits, nuts, and yogurt to fuel your child's body and mind for optimal learning and concentration.

Stress Management:

Teach stress-relief techniques like deep breathing exercises and effective time management strategies.

Encourage your child to take regular breaks while reading and engage in activities that promote relaxation and mental well-being.

Trust and Encouragement:

Instill confidence in your child's abilities by celebrating their successes and providing consistent support.

Emphasize their unique talents and potential for growth, and avoid comparing their performance with others.

Building Confidence:

Encourage your child to set realistic goals and persevere through challenges.

Foster a growth mindset that embraces learning and resilience in the face of adversity.

Patience and Understanding:

Be patient and empathetic as your child navigates exam preparation.

Offer guidance and support, acknowledging their efforts and reassuring them that mistakes are opportunities for growth.

Checklist & Do's and Don'ts

- Ensure you have spare stationery, a transparent exam pad ,a copy of the admit card, and ID card copy with you in case of emergency.

-Children are not allowed to carry bags in some centers so a transparent pouch can be used.

Ensure the chikdren have 3 sets of blue ink ball pens, 2 pencils ( one HB dark pencil to be used for diagrams ) scale ,geometry box ( for math) sharpener and eraser.

Don't forget check the ink level before the exams and take more refills or pen.

- Provide a transparent water bottle for easy identification and hydration during exams.

- Check whether you have signed the hallticket as parent.

- Arrive at the exam center at least an hour before the start time, especially if your child needs to locate different examination rooms.

- Avoid outside foods and pack plenty of nutritious snacks to keep your child energized during long study sessions and after exams.

Lastly

Avoid Passing Stress to Your Child:

Remember, your child may pick up on your stress and anxiety. Stay calm and positive, providing a supportive environment that fosters confidence and reassurance.

Remember, exams are but a stepping stone on the path to their dreams.

As parents, we are their pillars of support and ofcourse our confidence in them matters😊.

Hi all,
Greetings!

Today's post will help you with the strategies to do word problems in Math.

RIDE strategy entails four steps: 1) to remember the problem correctly, 2) identify relevant information, 3) determine the operations and unit for expressing the answer, and 4) enter the correct numbers, calculate and check the answer.

Fast Draw strategy is a mnemonic strategy is designed to improve students' math problem-solving skills. The first part (FAST) cues students through the steps to follow to solve word problems effectively. The second part (DRAW) cues students through the steps to follow to draw pictures to solve the problem.

The TINS strategy allows students to use different steps to analyze and solve word problems. T—Thought Think about what you need to do to solve this problem and circle the keywords. needed to solve this problem; draw a picture; cross out unneeded information.

Hi Friends,

Greetings !

A habitat is the place where an animal or plant normally lives. All good habitats have four parts: food, water, shelter, and space.
Each habitat has its own special set of conditions that support the wild creatures and plants that are adapted to live there, such as tall trees in a forest or water in a wetland.

Can you create a habitat for animals and plants?

We can help you with the pointers to create a habitat. You can modify the pointers based on the availability of the things suggested by us or you can improvise the same using your ideas.

Beat the boredom by applying your scientific thinking ! Good Luck !

Hi all,

Greetings !

Are you confused as how to groom your kids to face the future?

Do you think that we have effective school education and the child can apply his learning in real time situation?

Iam a parent and I would say a Big “NO”. So how can we take the first step with our children to prepare them for their uncertain future?

Any thoughts!

First of all we need make the children understand where they are going to apply their learning and how.

The image helps us to understand the real time learning for children using Monopoly game.

Another image talks about the Data collection and Interpretation exercise for your children in a real time situation.

Hope this post is useful !

Have a great week ahead !

Good evening My dear friends,
Learning integers through fun😊

My favorite concept in maths is integers which is very interesting . To make this favourite to all our lovely kids, we the team parineetha have many ways to make the kids understandable.
Let us share one of the funny ways to remember the sign of the integers when you add or subtract:

We start a tug of war between two teams, one is a positive team and the other is a negative team. Both the teams are equally strong .

1. -6+10 tells us that six people are competing with 10 people. So accordingly the team with more people will win by +4.
2. -9+3 tells us that negative team has more people and it will win by -6.

It may be noted that the team with the bigger number wins and so the sign(+/-) goes along with the winner.
