"We play, and then we sing, and we play, and then eat fruit, then play again, and then eat lunch, and then play ahh-gain!" - a 4 year old at Promise Centre.

To watch little ones totally immersed in play is one of the greatest joys and blessings of a Waldorf Kindergarten, because we know they are not "just playing". Everyday we get to witness the unfolding of the creators, nurturers, and healers of the future.

Motor skills, problem solving, social interaction and sensorial integration are some of the important developments that come effortlessly through play, but what really stands out for us is the deep devotion and reverence to the "work" at hand, that a child cultivates from within themselves, when left to play uninterrupted✨

It was a beautiful last day of school out in the garden🌱

The children worked hard to build a lovely dwelling place for little creatures, complete with a decorated pool waiting for rain 💕

And of course, mud play is incomplete without some mud mehandi!

Every little one deserves the precious freedom to explore the real world around them and Waldorf education truly holds them in their journey of becoming - head, heart and hands... body, mind and soul.✨

I behold you, beautiful one
I behold you, child of the earth and sun
Let my love wash over you, let my love watch over you.

Promise Centre and the Waldorf community of Bangalore bade farewell to the earthly presence of our mother, Lalitha, on Monday morning, the 24th of March, exactly 2 years after her daughter, our beloved one Jyotsna, crossed the threshold herself.

Mother, Words cannot express the person, the experiences or the impact Lalitha Mandana made in every life she touched.

And it was only fitting that our angel Jo came to take her home.

..merry meet, and merry part, and merry meet again, Lalitha Aunty.

As she would always end her messages,
Love, Trust and Gratitude.

Every piece of art created by our children is a precious insight into their inner world. Art is a fundamental part of Waldorf education from the Kindergarten into the grade school. Our souls' expressions come through our hands as we create. 💕✨

Capturing moments from the orientation on rhythm with Gopa Bose, a mentor and educator in Waldorf schools for 12 years counting. We thank our parents for being a part of the introduction to the new year and Ms. Gopa Bose for guiding us.

As we enjoy the bounty of fruit in nesting season , we share them with the birds ,that are flocking to our space. Barbets, kookals, sun birds, kite hawks, pigeon hawks and some species i cant identify. They are thirsty and hungry and need water and food while building nests.
As the academic year comes to a close, it's so nice to see Children working out of their own impetus with focus and purpose.
Sharing a few pics of older ones completing projects before graduating to grade school and younger ones working towards preparing for the meal and help install the bird feeds.
Next week we work on birdfeeds for the children to take home. Watch this space.

We worked with the the gift from bees last week making beeswax candles.
This week we use the gift from the sheep . Felting an age old activity nourishes children inwardly and out. The combination of hot water ,soap and fleece warm them inwardly and out. This year we've put fleece around a bar of soap ,dipped it in very hot water and massaged it in, to create a swirly felted surprise for parents.
All part of our secret surprise hamper..
