Let's talk about this picture for a minute....

What we see on one side of the gate is a group of different children, dressed so beautifully, exhibiting their uniqueness and diversity.
What we see on the other side of the gate is a group of children who look all about the same, dressed the same with minor distinctions of gender and hair colour.

Now we see that this is 'school' where children go to get an education. The same education for all? With the same expectations for all? With the same testing to measure learning for all?
Yessssss...
So our question here is....dont typically functioning children, with no diagnosed disability, have any uniqueness about them?
When they finish from this education path and join the work force, is everyone still expected to be the same? Isn't this when the organisations look for that uniquely brilliant mind, or that out of the box thinker or that risk taker?
Hmmmmmm.....

Here at Samatha Slc we make it our purpose of education to identify, tap into and nurture ...
...that unique quality,
...that unique skill,
...that unique ability,
in every child we teach!

So yes, let's really talk about this picture!

Teaching when done right makes learning a very natural process. Sometimes however, children struggle to cope with the learning expectations in school because there is a gap in their skill development. With focused attention and exposure to learning in small groups, progress can be made in leaps and bounds, especially in the early years!
A stitch in time saves nine! That's so true. Delayed intervention and support only compunds the challenges for all concerned- the child, the parent and the school. So when you see a struggle find a solution that works. Early intervention helps at many levels!
