Both degrees will be awarded by Bangalore University.

The Bio-IT Centre at IBAB is organizing a five-day in-person Hands-on Workshop on “RNA library preparation, RNA Sequencing analysis with R” from 26-30 Dec 2022 at Electronic City, Bengaluru. This workshop will provide hands-on training in RNA isolation, qualitative and quantitative analysis, Illumina library preparation, library QC using TapeStation, and an introduction to NGS sequencing platforms. It will cover the basics of Linux and working in BioConductor R, RNA-seq data analysis, including aligning
and counting reads, differential gene expression analysis, and pathway enrichment analysis.

The Bio-IT Centre at IBAB is organizing a three-days Hands-on Workshop on “NGS library preparation (WGS and RNA-seq)” during July 12-14, 2022. This workshop will provide hands- on training in RNA and DNA isolation, qualitative and quantitative analysis, library preparation for RNA and whole genome sequencing, profiling of DNA and RNA libraries using tapestation and an introduction to NGS sequencing platforms. The course is aimed at students, researchers, and technicians who wish to employ NGS sequencing approaches in their work but may not have sufficient training in/awareness of library preparation, a critical step in data analysis. Ph.D. scholars/postdoctoral fellows/JRFs/faculty involved in pure experimental biological research are encouraged to apply.

Applications are invited for the position of Curator at the Anti-Venom Research and Development Centre (AVRDC) to be established at IBAB, Bengaluru, as a collaboration with the Evolutionary Venomics Lab at IISc, Bengaluru, funded by the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS), Government of Karnataka. The curator will be responsible for supporting the establishment and overall management of the centre including
liaising with appropriate authorities for approvals and permissions,
preparing and implementing future activities of the centre as well as training manpower in handling venomous snakes. The position will be offered initially for 6 months and extended based on performance and satisfactory progress until the project funding is available. Duration of project = 5 years.
