IIIT Bangalore and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Government of Indonesia have signed a scholarship cooperation agreement to facilitate education of Indonesian government officers and students at IIIT Bangalore. Under this agreement, 10 full-funding scholarships will be made available to Indonesian citizens, identified by MCIT as potential future leaders of Indonesia, to undergo IIIT Bangalore's unique and interdisciplinary 2-year Master's Programme in Digital Society.
The MoU that was signed between the two organizations was one among the fifteen that formed a part of the Indian Prime Minister's recently concluded visit to Indonesia.

A walking powerhouse of grit and determination, Vidhya leaves no room for impediments in sight to even remotely create impediments in life and earning laurels. She is the co-founder of Vision Empower - a not for profit enterprise incubated at IIITB Innovation Center which focuses on bringing education in science and mathematics to students with visual impairment.
As a student of the Masters in Digital Society program at IIIT Bangalore, Vidhya graduated as the gold medal winner from her batch in 2017. The achievements roll on into numerous awards and scholarships for academic excellence. She makes the headlines several times and holds the distinction of being the first blind student to undertake math at higher secondary school in Karnataka, following it up by being the first one to pursue Computer Science as a major in undergraduate studies at her University. Vidhya is sure to inspire everyone and give them an insight into a whole new world!

A talk on 'Designing Inclusive Technology' was hosted at IIIT Bangalore on 17th January, 2018. The students of Digital Society and other programs, and the members of IT and Society attended this engaging and rather enriching talk.
Rohini Lakshané is Director (Emerging Research) at The Bachchao Project and a consultant with the Centre for Internet and Society, India.
