A morning discussion at which revolved around problems of the IT city, was followed by a walk through chickpete, the old fort market area in Bangalore.

The walk themed density, led students through streets filled with everything consumed by the city. From fruit markets to electronic stores and the flower market at KR market, gave students an understanding of how much a city like Bangalore consumes.

A visit to Tipu Sultan's historic summer palace was quiet and empty on a weekday.

No architect's visit to Bangalore is complete without going to IIM Bangalore. Beautifully designed by prize winner B.V. is a campus worth exploring.

To understand architecture however, it's important to look at the context as well. A long drive through the city gave the students a chance to realise the kind of and taking place in the city. The drive was also to reflect upon the urban development of the city.

The visit in contrast to IIM Bangalore was Vidya Shanti School designed by and Rajesh Ranganathan. The light and brightness designed for orphans living in the school gave the children a chance to experience space and live in a beautiful well lit, lively atmosphere.

Intercultural groups of students from and walk the streets of Bangalore on their first day of a sustainable workshop.

From architecture by the British to the Shivajinagar markets and Russell market, the students experience the city and its many ATMOSPHERES.

The walk is specifically designed for a first day of exploring a city. From high end buildings to fruit markets, CONVERSATIONS between the Swiss students and indian students create a new cultural exchange.

Bangalore is a city with many faces. This walk is designed to walk through
three different contexts of the city. They have different atmospheres and
essences.

The exhibition at the Swiss Architecture Museum (SAM) in Basel shows urban development projects in Switzerland. We mainly use the expression 'density' to talk about urbanism and population. This exhibition opens many more perspectives and opportunities in addition to this. It was one huge learning on the various forms of urban coexistance in Switzerland which is SAM Dichtelust.

"On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition in the Vitra Design Museum, Doshi and I recalled nostalgic memories from the international studios conducted in 2002 to 2005. We fondly recalled being able to motivate numerous young people. It was at the same time that I was inspired to work in India for 20 years almost."
-Juerg Grunder

The open talk with B.V. Doshi and Prof. Philip Ursprung was the largest event of it's kind at Vitra with more than a thousand people in attendance.

There are exactly two months from today to see the exhibition of Balkrishna Doshi's life work titled 'Architecture for the People' at the Vitra Design Museum.

Doshi's granddaughter Khushnu Panthaki Hoof and the Vitra team skillfully integrated the inspiring exhibition into the building. Viewers feel the spirit of the Vastu Shilpa Foundation people.
