It’s Pizza Day Today –
What began as a simple flatbread with sauce and cheese back in Naples, Italy around the 10th century, has needless to say, evolved into a universal favourite with little ones worldwide. But did you know that you can make ‘healthier homemade pizza with a whole wheat base’ (yes, you don’t have to settle for refined flour!) and load it with simple fresh ingredients that offer nutrients such as protein, calcium, antioxidants, vitamins and fibre?
Well, all you need to do is follow the link below to find out how you can make a whole wheat pizza base easily from scratch, and think of a rainbow assortment of veggies to top it with, along with cheese and pizza sauce – broccoli, yellow, green and red bell peppers, onion, corn, mushrooms, olives, basil, oregano - and if you prefer, a few shreds of your child’s preferred meat like chicken. You can even try a hand at making smaller ‘bite-size mini pizzas on a tawa’!
