Sometimes praise does the opposite of what we intend.
When children are praised only for being “smart,” they begin to fear mistakes. But when we praise effort, we teach them that growth matters more than perfection.

Swap “You’re brilliant” for “I’m proud of how hard you worked.”
One protects ego. The other builds resilience.
