Collection ‘H.E.A.L’, by our DFD student
represents the hidden depths lying within us and empowers us to discover our inner peace. A RTW Collection which stands for luxury comfort wear infused with “Healing inspiration”, empowering women to discover inner peace through mindful tranquility and nature's embrace.

The book cover re-designed by our GD3 student Anushree for the book, ‘The Last Queen’ by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. The Design choices she made were to reflect the powerful tone and the historical content in the book. The front cover features a cubist inspired portrait of Rani Jindan Kaur, the main character. Here, Anushree was able to create a strong visual appeal using a combination of vibrant colours and sharp forms that help attract the target audience. For the back cover, she has created a sense of continuity by extending Jindan’s shawl from the front page, and adding an illustration of the royal Qila.

An interactive session & presentation on Graphic Design & academic and career aspects related to Design studies, was exhibited by our Final Year Graphic & Communication Design students Spoorthi Yellesh, Aditi Prabhu & Kashish Arora at the campus today.

They also showcased their Portfolio consisting of various interesting works related to Communication Design, Typography, Illustration, UI UX, Motion Design etc. The event was organized by the Graphic Design department. The students from Foundation (1st) Year attended this inspiring session and gained insights into the ways and methods of a Graphic Designer.

A mesmerised audience embarked on a sartorial journey with us at 8th edition, while we showcased a collection based on the fusioof French chic with Indian artistry.. Our innovative collection seamlessly weaved Jaipur miniature paintings with environmentally friendly choices in fabric, including khadi and linen framed with French silhouettes, creating a visual tapestry that transcends borders. Each garment tells a story of precision and elegance, resonating aesthically with two such seemingly diverse narratives. This collection is not just about fashion; it's a canvas of cultural synergy, inviting a global audience to witness the magic where diversity becomes a beautiful expression of art.

Exercises on Visual Texture during Observation Drawing classes for the foundation students at LISAA School of Design Bangalore.

The Graphic Design Department's staff members and students travelled to Bangalore International Centre, Domlur, to take in a one-of-a-kind exhibition of drawings and illustrations by well-known artists, Mr. Paul Fernandes and Ms. Chicku Jayadeva. The exhibition's theme, Bangalore Then and Now, took us on a tour across remarkable eras, offering us a peek into the past, present, and perhaps the future of the city. On the day of the visit, the students and team also had the chance to interact with the Artist. Paul Fernandes, and they relished every minute of it.

At Bangalore Times Fashion Week, the LISAA School of Design presented a cutting-edge collection featuring young talent students showcasing their artistic traditions of Jaipur miniature blending with the refined silhouettes of French street promoting cross-cultural fashion.

Throwback Thursday: Students from the LISAA School of Design took part in a workshop at Tharangini Studio and had a fantastic time trying out the ancient Indian printing method that originated in Rajasthan. Students were able to produce beautiful and distinctive fabric designs by combining the resist and the dye with intricate patterns and the unique 'Resist Tie-Dye' process. Students were also shown how to use a hand-cut wood block to print various patterns on fabric using the Traditional Block Printing technique.

As a part of their assessment LISAA School of Design 5th Semester students submitted their process portfolio, art journal and show-cased the packaging and label design on the product with typography and graphic design.

Students from the LISAA School of Design went on an educational excursion to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden and Mysore Palace to learn about the Mysore artistic, cultural, and architectural legacy.

The anatomical structure of zoo animals was studied, along with diverse outdoor sketches of different themes and observational drawing, sketching, painting, and photography of many classic artworks, buildings, and monuments.

The Life Drawing sessions for the BVA Foundation students were started in LISAA School of Design with the study of Human Anatomy. Students actively participated in studying the proportions of the Human body through colored paper cuttings needed in character designing.

LISAA School of Design and CREO Valley welcomes Mr. Saharsh Kumar Shukla to our upcoming events 'Les Travaux' - Student Design Exhibition and our first edition of 'CREO Valley Student Film Festival'. Mr. Saharsh Kumar Shukla is a popular actor, known for his roles in Chhichhore (2019), Raees (2017) and Talvar (2015). Mr. Saharsh has been a student of Film and Television Institute of India.

Mr. Saharsh has won several awards including 'Best Actor / Inner City / 2019', 'Best Actor / Outstanding Achievement Award / 2019' and 'Best Performance by an Ensemble Cast / Chhichhore / 2019'. We will be welcoming him during our film festival and design exhibition on 6th May 2023.

Mr. Harimohanan will also be joining us as a Jury member. He is a documentary filmmaker, popularly known for his critically acclaimed documentaries "Invisible wings" and "Coming home". He is from Ernakulam, Kerala and completed his formal education in filmmaking from Chennai and is an active filmmaker for past 15 years. Mr. Adarsh Eshwarappa known for his film writing and directorial works in Shuddhi/2017, Bhinna/2019, The Reality/2011 and Marethenendukondeya/2011 will also be joining as a Jury member.

Students of first year are welcomed back with Woodcut Printmaking Workshop. Printmaking is an artistic process based on the principle of transferring images from a matrix onto another surface, most often paper or fabric. Traditional printmaking techniques include woodcut, etching, engraving, and lithography. The resulting print is often the mirror image of the original design on the matrix.

Excited to see high energy these students bring with them. Welcome back to another exciting academic term.
