Acharya School of Design

Acharya School of Design was the official Design School partner for Makers Faire Bengaluru 2017 which was held on 16th,17th & 18th Nov 2017.
Acharya school of Design conducted many workshops like Linocut, Terracotta & Stop motion Animation for 2 days , which received a lot of appreciation from the visitors and school Children. The aim of these workshop was to make Art & Design reach people through some hands on activity with the workshops, screening and installations.
The workshops and the Art Installations created by ASD was a big hit and many people appreciated and enjoyed the presence. Prominent people have visited our Mindspace - Tunnel Installations..

It was one meaningful day for all of us. We visited Regional Design, Technology and Training center situated at Nandini Lay out , Bangaluru. This is a place where master craftsmen design many things using different materials, like, wood, Clay, metal, bamboo etc.

There is a workshop on PLY-SPLIT - BRAIDING by well known practitioner and faculty at NID, Mr.Errol Pires on Sunday tomorrow 11.09.2016 at 9 am to 4 pm at Acharya School of Design. The workshop is held for First year Foundation students.

There was a Graphic Design workshop on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of September by Graphic Designer, Mrs. Shalini from White Ink, New Delhi, India at Acharya School of Design.Photo Glimpses of the workshop is here.

Acharya School of Design hosted lecture sessions by Prof. Vinay Kumar from Ahmadabad. Vinay Kumar is an expert in Human factor and Ergonomics. His sessions were around Design Thinking, Design Management and Ergonomics in everyday Design. Sessions were held on Augst, 17th and 18th at ASD.

I am happy to share that Acharya School of Design has completed successfully one Academic Year now. We have arranged an Exhibition of the one year works by students at Architecture Block. Artist and Art Historian, Suresh Jayaram will inaugurate the Exhibition at 10.30 am on 20th. The exhibition will be open for public from 20th to 22nd of April 2016. I welcome you and friends to visit the Exhibition and give your feedback.

Students of ASD under taken a Village study recently. They visited a village, Hosahalli Palya on Hesaraghatta road. This visit gave them first hand experience of grass root life at village, their lifestyle and needs. Students made extensive documentation through photography, video and drawings. A small glimpse of this field study.

Introduction to the speaker
Prosenjit is an alumnus (1998) and former Member of the Faculty of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He has also worked as Director of Special Projects, with Toonz Animation India (2002-2009) creating award-winning animation properties for international broadcasters. His short films have been showcased at prestigious film festivals in over 20 countries, winning several international awards and nominations.
Prasenjit addressed students of Design, Mass Communication and journalism at the premises of Acharya School Design. He spoke about Animation Education and its relevance in society today.
