The Norbertine Order was founded by St. Norbert Von Gennep in 1120 in France. A brilliant young aristocrat, he enjoyed a successful career serving in the imperial court of Henry V. In 1115 Norbert retired to Xanten, where he underwent a profound conversion.

He became a priest & attracted many disciples and formed a religious community in 1121, called the Order of Premonstratentians (Norbertines) for religious and societal reform.

Abbot Wolfgang Bӧhm from Germany came to Mananthvady, Kerala, in 1979 and established a Norbertine community. The Order has committed herself to serving in social, educational and other charitable ministries.

St. Norbert School is nestled in a unique, natural environment on a 9 acre land, surrounded by trees, flowers and the welcome twitters of the various species of birds and the pretty, colorful spectacle of butterflies.

We are educators first, driven by a singular purpose, to put quality education within the reach of every child. At St. Norbert, we believe that every child has the right to a value education, where skills are developed and every child is considered as unique and gifted. The students are offered a safe and stimulating environment. St. Norbert School is a pioneering education school managed and run by the Fathers of the Norbertine Order, and as a learning community based on the principles of Christianity, envisions students from all communities to seek their life missions and cultivate them to be creative and capable citizens who can transform society with compassion and love.
