Hon PM Modi ji gave a slogan --" Make in India". Despite the fact that we all endorse this idea we know very well that this idea will be a big flop in Textile Industry unless we change following..... 1) our raw material constitutes 65-70% of our cost and is in the hands of very few companies/ traders. Raw material like cotton is being managed and manipulated by few international traders.VSF prices being manipulated by Grasim and PSF prices being manipulated by Reliance.
2) These people sell fibre to other countries like China, Indonesia, Bangladesh , Pakistan etc at almost 30% Cheaper prices than Indian textile Industry.
3) Last month,Grasim sold almost 10000 MT VSF in international market with an average price of Rs 113. Lowest price offered to China and Pakistan is Rs 89 pet kg and Rs 95 per kg. It sold 1350 MT VSF below rs 100 per kg whereas VSF rates for Indian textile Industry in Rs 137.5 plus taxes,duties and freight. 4) PSF lobby sold 10000MT of PSF in international market around rs 78-95 a kg. Indian prices are known to us.
5) Cotton prices dropped a lot in Aug and sept in international market but domestic prices remained higher as cotton was available in limited hands.
6) this policy of supplying cheaper raw material to our competitors is unfair for Indians and Indian textile industry and also encourages make in overseas countries concept.
We all need to think and convey to Hon PM that "Make in India" Concept will work in terms textile industry only if these few corporates and traders are told bluntly that Indian textile industry must be provided raw material at international prices. Otherwise it will remain a slogan only.
We all Indian must appreciate that Textile industry employ almost 1 crore people and deserves a fantastic growth provided a right environment is given to it. These few companies and traders are leaching Indians like Kale Angrez and we all must stand up to stop them. Please share it with textile fraternity in case you want to see a good time in Textile industry as well. Try to circulate in a way that it reaches Hon PM Modi ji as well and we all can make his dream come true. Jai Hind
