Big projects with far-off (or non-existent) deadlines can often be the most nerve-racking: You might put them off until the last minute, or let them sit on your to-do list mentally torturing you for months. Here's how to keep moving forward:

• Make it a priority. If you have too many important goals, you'll never get to the big ones. Slash your list until you're left with only five, the long-term assignment being one of them.
• Round up what you need. It's hard to get started without the necessary tools, information, skills, and support.
• Break it into smaller pieces. Group the work into manageable chunks and make sure you know how to do the first thing. Set a deadline for that first task and put it in your calendar.

Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.

Indian markets came under selling pressure post budget

• Indian markets underperformed its developed market peers in March. As against a gain of 2.0% for the Dow, the Sensex lost around 2.0% for the month
• The selling pressure intensified post-budget. Specifically, the GAAR (General Anti-Avoidance Rules) provision introduced in the Budget 2013 spooked the markets
• FII investment for the month of March also slowed down to Rs. 77bn as against flows of Rs 110 bn and Rs 252 bn in January and February 2012 respectively
US markets scale new heights

• US markets consolidated its gains during March led by improving strength of its economy. For the first time in market history, the S&P, Nasdaq and Dow closed above 1,400, 3,000 and 13,000 respectively
• US Retail sales increased 1.1% in February v/s 0.6% in January
• Earlier in the month, there was market volatility as investors were concerned whether Greece would be able to put in place a debt swap with private creditors before the deadline expires
