๐ธGuitarist Antara took us through the journey of Western classical Music- moving from some of the oldest known compositions to contemporary pieces. The performance was paired with text and images, drawing connections across time and different forms.
๐ถAbout the artist: Antara began playing the guitar at the age of five and has since performed widely across India and internationally. A recipient of the Karagiozis/Hadjiemmanouil scholarship, she has trained and performed in Europe, premiered new works written for her, and continues to work closely with both music education and performance.

The PhD and Postdoctoral community of NCBS and inStem brings the 13th edition of the Undergraduate Lecture Series where we introduce a research-based learning of biology through interactive sessions and activities.
๐ Sundays, 03 May - 28 June 2026
๐ NCBS, Bengaluru
๐งโ๐ซ THEME
The theme of this year's lecture series is "Dynamical Biologyโ, where we will explore how biological systems constantly adapt and respond to their environments. Such processes occur across scales ranging from 'gene regulation within a single cell' to 'ecological interactions among entire populations'. Through this series, we hope to teach students not only the โhowโ of these dynamics, but โwhyโ are they crucial to the functions of the living systems.
๐งโ๐ ELIGIBILITY
This is best suited for undergraduate (Bachelor's) students of any discipline who have an interest in biology. However, Master's students are encouraged to apply as well.

๐ชพIn Indiaโs semi-arid savannas, survival is rarely a solo act. These sun-scorched landscapes are home to a suite of mid-sized predators like jackals, foxes and wild cats. ๐ฆ
โ๏ธThese animals have learned to navigate sparse vegetation and extreme temperatures.
๐ฃ๏ธBut as roads slice through grasslands and human settlements spread outward, these animals are increasingly forced into closer contact with one another, and with people.
A recent study at NCBS explores how such landscape changes are quietly rewriting the rules of coexistence among meso-carnivores in the Kachchh region of western India.
