My name is Tejas.R, from Bangalore, India - a Football Life Coach, Professional Football Freestyler a Football Clown and founder of Sparky Football - a non-profit football initiative, which uses football as a life skill module for social change. I am the Community Impact Coach Coaches Across Continents (Partners of United Nations) in India and also one of the country's best Football Freestylers.

Football is not merely a sport for me - it’s a tool to create a difference. With the help of unique curriculums, passion for the game and love for kids, I use football as a teaching module to educate (especially the underprivileged) the importance of critical life skills and holistic development. My own personal journey of dedication and self-responsibility is my driving force. My students at Sparky are not just talented Footballers, they are gentleman with impeccable character and a strong sense of responsibility towards themselves and society – this is what I hope to instil in kids worldwide. My motto – Make Your Wounds Proud - demonstrates my organisation's purpose. To rise above the odds, be a proud example to others and demonstrate that it’s not the past that makes you but your choices and your decisions. I merely use Football and Life-Skill Coaching in this Journey
My dream for the future is to make this a way of life, a choice, for kids worldwide – to be an inspiration and to create a legacy. It is my goal to see the kids I train to set an example themselves and lead the way in this journey, of using football to create a long lasting social impact. Sparky Football, a non-profit organisation (NGO) with a mission "To build India's No.1 under 19 football team from the Underprivileged kids". The organisation's motto - Make Your Wounds Proud - was the very inspiration behind this. Forming this organization has been nothing short of an incredible learning experience. Using football as a tool to create a difference in my student’s lives, has not only led them to become talented footballers, but gentlemen with impeccable character and strong sense of social responsibility. Several of my students have already started training other students in football workshops, keeping in mind the principle and philosophy behind Sparky Football.

Had a great time creating modules and delivering classroom lectures on Safeguarding methods and policies for the MBA Sports Management students at CMS Jain University, Bangalore.

It was beautiful to see how curious, open, and reflective the students were. We spoke about child protection, power dynamics, safe coaching spaces, and the responsibility we carry as future leaders in sport.

Grateful for the energy in the room and the chance to share what I’ve learnt from the field — from refugee camps, football pitches, skateparks, classrooms, and communities across India and abroad.

Every conversation like this reminds me why safeguarding isn’t just a policy… it’s a culture we build..

Recently, I had the privilege of meeting a shy yet remarkable 16-year-old participant in my mentorship program. His words, "For the first time in my life, I found someone who could hear me," left a lasting impact. This encounter reminded me that the quietest voices often carry the most profound messages. As a mentor, it's essential to create spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and empowered. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet inspiring young minds and for the reminder that listening is a powerful tool. Let's create more spaces where every young voice feels valued.

We are happy to share that Tejas has been promoted to the Accredited Coach Division from Sparky Football at Coaches Across Continents. He’ll be serving as a Senior Sports Mentor for the coaches and teachers across India, supporting:

1. Safeguarding
2. Professional Development
3. Purposeful Play Culture

Last week, we concluded an incredible Onfield Coach Education Program in Delhi with 79 coaches from across India, focused on child rights, trauma-informed coaching, curriculum design, and leadership.
