'Anuvyakhyana' is Acharaya Madhwa's masterpiece work, with it being a critical exposition of the Brahma-satras. It is a work of monumental erudition in the world of philosophy we know of. So let us get some background on its formation.

"In Brahmasutrabhasya of Acharya Madhwa, importance is given primarily for representation of Sutras. Review of other commentaries are done very briefly and in few places. Anuvakhyana is unlike that. Review of other commentaries is the primary subject of this work. Along with that, the important concept of his teachings viz.,VishNu sarvOtammattva (Supremacy of Lord Vishnu), tAratamya(gradation of souls), vishESha, bEdha etc are extensively presented. Brahmasutrabhasya is mainly a prose work and only the examples of the proofs (pramANa) are in the form of Shlokas (verses).Anuvakhyana is in the form of shlOkas (Verses) and all the representation of primary proofs (pramANa) are also accepted in the form of Verses.
Sumadhwavijaya has recorded the background and incidents leading to the composition of Anuvakhyana :
Realizing Acharya's greatness in all areas, Trivikrimapanditacharya became his disciple. When he was instructed to write a gloss for his commentary by Acharya, TrivikramaPanditacharya prayed to Acharya "Each of your composition is efficacious, distinguished, but I do not have the capability to digest the line of thought filled in it. You have to please grace us with another work which will clarify the meanings in them". This is similar to incident in Bhagavata where Narada asks SriVedavyasa to compose Bhagavata and grace everyone.Immediately Srimadacharya gathered four of his students and started dictating the script to them. 4 students and a Work of four chapters; He was instructing four chapters to four of them at the same time. The students kept taking the notes. All the four chapters concluded at the same time and the Work was ready. That is Anuvakhyana. What a stroke of genius! What a work !A masterpiece in VedanticWorld was composed like an impromptu poem. Complex Vedanta emanated like a poem. The world has not witnessed an other intellectual marvel like this."

~ Madhwa had covered the upper part of his body with a red shawl densely woven with a fine soft wool. This was shining like the radiance of rising Sun on the bright golden peaks of Meru mountain. (MV 13-31)

Madhwa advanced further towards the people who had gathered around the Vishnumangala temple.

~ They saw a broad chest and well-built shoulders which together looked like a high wall. His upper arms were large, round, long, beautiful and like the trunk (of an elephant). His palms were very red like tender leaves, which had proud ridges and lines with subtle markings resembling flag and wheel. (MV 13-32)

~ Madhwa’s smile was very attractive, showing his teeth which shone like bright new Jasmine buds. His lips were red and auspicious. His eyes were large like lotus
petals. People became happy by the very glance of his delightful look. (MV 13-34)

Madhwa discoursed Bhagawatha then there immersing the scholars and laymen alike in an ocean of happiness.

~ The mere reminiscence of these and other glorious acts of Madhwa, such as walking, sitting - his dignified postures, his conversation, can set free the deserved from the fetters of worldly existence and secure salvation. Only gods with the benediction of Saraswathi and Rudra can relate and do justice in describing his glories. How a little-wit like me could describe these divine deeds conclusively! (MV 13-42)

This is a poetic elaboration as the memory of even simple acts of Madhwa seen and remembered
carry their superior quality, which will take the qualified aspirant further in the path of redemption.

This is the day to commemorate Acharya Madhwa entering Badarikashrama. Happy Sri Madhwanavami!

Vasudeva, then, saw the newborn child, who had sublime lotus-like eyes and who bore in His four hands the four weapons śaṅkha, cakra, gadā and padma. His chest was decorated with the symbol of Śrīvatsa and His neck shimmered the brilliance of Kaustubha gem. Being dressed in yellow, His body blackish like a dense cloud, His scattered hair fully grown, and His helmet and earrings sparkling uncommonly with the valuable gem Vaidūrya, decorated with a brilliant belt, armlets, bangles and other ornaments, the child appeared remarkably wonderful.

Madhwanama by Sri Sripadarajaru 26/01/2015

On the verge of Sri Madhwa navami, it's time to distinctly rejoice the glory of our moola guragaLu, Sri Acharya Madhwa.

Acharya Madhwa is the third incarnation of Vayu, very well known as Mukhya-prana. The first two incarnations are Hanuma and Bhima respectively. It's a pride to realize how great is our Acharyaru if we can comprehend how grandeur is the status of Vayudeva among the rest of the demigods. In Vedas, Vayu is called the Prana shakti - the vital life force and hence we are absolutely dependent on Vayu and the Lord himself residing in Vayu for every activity we perform during our lifetime and afterlife.

Madhwa Nama penned by Sri Sripadarajaru is one great recital which praises the glory of Mukhya-prana and his three incarnations.
Here are the text and translation, available both in Kannada and English, along with the audio to listen/sing-along. Spread the word.
