Megalomania??

When I’m so full of myself, I think I want to be
humble and self-effacing to everyone, visibly?

When I put on an act of being gracious all the time
while deep inside I know that I really don’t give a dime?

When my mind plays tricks and shows me a halo
round my head and I feel it adds to my glow?

When I know I’m mediocre and there are millions more
who deserve everything I’ve got by a stroke of luck for sure?

When I look at myself in the mirror and think
I’m immortal not someone who’ll be gone in a blink?

That’s when I need to truly introspect
and the signs of this malaise detect.

So hurry up, people.

Sets me wondering, does the memory go back to such a young age or is it pleasant/unpleasant memories that govern what we remember!!??
How else does one explain a boy who left Ekalavya Academy after doing just 1st and 2nd standards with us and having this to say, when he reconnected yesterday on Facebook, after 8 years!!!!
