The seeds of TMSB were originally planted in 2008, as The Drum School Bangalore, which was the only school of its kind in Bangalore, at the time, to offer a practical, experience-based education in contemporary drumming. The innovative program was developed by Milton Lance, who established a tradition that continues at TMSB today: instructing students with a unique blend of creative, educational and professional talent. With the addition of Guitar and Vocal courses, the school grew to serve an even greater variety of musicians. Located in the epicenter of post-liberalized India—Bangalore City, TMSB continues to attract students from all over the country, creating a diverse community of musicians and creative professionals. Recently, TMSB has further expanded its programs to match a rapidly changing music industry - including programs in Keyboards, Horns and Woodwinds, and Composition & Analysis. To match the ever-changing music and entertainment landscape of the 21st Century, TMSB has reorganized all its programs into a streamlined, integrated School of Contemporary Music. Performance Programs include courses for Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboard Technology, Piano, Woodwinds and Vocals; and independent programs are offered for Composition & Analysis, Mentoring and Interdisciplinary initiatives. With over a decade of experience, TMSB is constantly developing new educational strategies to serve modern India's rapidly growing student community.
