Learning beyond borders- When young minds connect, meaningful learning happens!

Our Grade 2 learners had an enriching online collaboration with students from Springdale International School, Bangladesh, demonstrating how technology can blur geographical borders and bring young minds together.

As part of the theme “Who We Are”, learners explored well-being by sharing their ideas on caring for their minds, bodies, and relationships, and reflecting on what helps us feel happy, safe, and included. Through the engaging “Barrier or Possibility” activity, they identified challenges faced by others and brainstormed ways to create possibilities and promote inclusion.

The session was filled with enthusiastic participation, meaningful conversations, and collaborative learning. This global collaboration provided a wonderful opportunity for learners to connect across cultures, exchange perspectives, learn from one another, and discover that well-being is something we can nurture together. A memorable experience that fostered empathy, inclusion, international-mindedness, and the joy of learning beyond borders.

A special appreciation to the educators from both schools whose vision, planning, and dedication made this meaningful collaboration possible, creating an enriching platform for learners to connect, share, and grow together on a global stage.

Bridging the Gap, Building Better Futures

Our Parent-Teacher Meeting was a wonderful opportunity to bring parents and teachers together to celebrate student progress, reflect on learning, and discuss ways to support every child’s growth.

Beyond marks and grades, the conversations focused on well-being, strengths, areas for growth, and the journey towards becoming confident, responsible learners.

We hosted TRIOMUN (Trio Model United Nations) for students from grades 6-12. Students were very excited to participate in the MUN as they had opportunities to explore committees like the WHO, DISEC, UNHRC, and FIFA.

This MUN was entirely student run – these included students actively being involved right from the planning stages to taking on roles in the Secretariat and logistics teams.

Overall, students (or as we like to call them, delegates) had an enriching, fun, learning experience.

Unlocking the Power of Words in PYP

Vocabathon was an exciting and engaging English Language Assembly that brought together students from Grades 1 to 5 for a fun-filled exploration of vocabulary. Through a variety of interactive, team-based games and challenges, students had the opportunity to learn, practise and use words in creative and meaningful ways.

The activities included Bingo, Reading Relay, Word Hunt, Listening Activities, Word Puzzles, Word Ladder and Word and Sentence Maze, encouraging students to think quickly, make connections, build vocabulary, strengthen their reading and listening skills, and work collaboratively with their teams.

The enthusiasm and active participation of the students transformed vocabulary learning into an enjoyable and memorable experience, proving that words can be explored not just through books, but also through play, teamwork, curiosity and creativity.

Vocabathon truly celebrated the joy of language and the power of learning together.

Behind every classroom lesson is a world students may never see documentation, administrative responsibilities, planning, communication, additional school duties, adapting to technology, learning new tools and constantly evolving as an educator.

Teaching today is no longer limited to standing in front of a classroom. Educators are expected to be teachers, mentors, planners, communicators, learners and innovators often all at once.
