Let us respond to the tragedy at Chennai .....
The appalling situation in Chennai calls for those of us outside Chennai to do what we can to help and support.
At IndiaCares Foundation the support we envisage will be to work predominantly with the NGO community and help them with the services they are providing to sections of society in desperate need.
We have our representative in Chennai (Ms Aarti Madhusudan) who will direct our efforts. Aarti is already working as a member of a Citizen's Response Committee to define longer term needs in tandem with the local govt depts to complement the work that they are doing.
Please contribute as much as you can (perhaps a days salary or more).
Make online contributions at : www.icfn.in/chennairelief
or courier your cheques favouring ‘India Cares Foundation’ to
52/8, 1st Floor, 5th Main, 12th Cross, Wilson Garden Bangalore 560 030.
or do a Bank transfer to State Bank of Mysore Savings A/c 64035610487 IFSC: SBMY0040190
Together we can …..
Team India Cares
- including Rajan Narayanan (President) and Murray Culshaw (Chairperson)
PS: Please make a quick decision on this so that plans can be made; but if you have any question please don't hesitate to phone: Meena Dave: +91-97400-83121 or Rajan 9845030095. Donations to India Cares Foundation can benefit from 80G (50%) Income Tax relief; we will send our receipt as well as a report, perhaps after one month, to let you know what is being done.
Thank you again for your support.

The Times of India reports:Of the five million odd graduates that India produces annually, only a little over half are employable in any sector of the knowledge economy. Inadequate English and computer skills are key factors holding back students, especially those from smaller towns.
The National Employability Report by Aspiring Minds, an employability solutions company, revealed this, based on the computer adaptive test on 60,000 Indian graduates. The students were tested communication skills in English, computer knowledge, analytical, cognitive skills and basic accounting knowledge.
