Carnatic music is one of the oldest systems of music in the world whose soul lies in the compositions of many great composers. The trinity being the foremost. This book written on Saint Tyagaraja, one among the trinity, by Vidwan Bellary Suresh is a wonderful source of knowledge which gives us an insight into the life and times of one of the greatest composers of Carnatic music. This is a great boon to students who would like to study the journey of the great saint. The author, Sri Bellary Suresh is a dedicated and committed musician. Apart from being a performing artist, he has been nurturing young minds through his music school Naada Tarangini. The effort put in by him to bring out this book on Saint Tyagaraja and likewise give back to Carnatic music is truly commendable.

The book comprehensively covers the life and times of saint Tyagaraja along with appropriate compositions associated with his life. Apart from this, the book also covers Tyagaraja's visits to various religious site's and some of the associated compositions. It also tells us about his meeting with contemporaries and luminaries of his times.

I would strongly recommend this book to the students of Carnatic music who wish to study about the life of on of the greatest composers, Saint Tyagaraja. I would also like to congratulate Shri Suresh for tirelessly working to bring out this excellent book and wish him all the very best.
