Ms. Vaishali Taneja (Ph.D student of Prof. Kanishka Biswas) has been awarded the 2026 Graduate Student Award from the International Thermoelectric Society during the annual ITS meeting in Houston, USA.
This is highly competitive award, and she is the only Indian award winner in the whole 2026 award category in ITS.
The Graduate Student Award from the International Thermoelectric Society recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of thermoelectrics in Ph.D student level worldwide.

JNCASR and TRANE Technologies signed an MoU on 26 May 2026 to collaborate on the development of high-performance thermoelectric materials and devices for converting low-grade waste heat into electricity.
The project will be led by Prof. Kanishka Biswas at JNCASR, with a focus on scaling up the energy-efficient and sustainable materials technologies.
