Introduction to Ayurveda Dietetics – Self-Paced Batch

Our next batch (41st) starts on 1st October 2026.

💻 This batch is self-paced, which means you can learn at your own pace and go through the course according to your own schedule.

📅 It will run from 1 - 26 October and is offered as a means to be eligible for the Advanced Ayurveda Dietetics course stating Nov’26.

This course introduces the connection between Ayurveda, food and nutrition.
It is designed for Ayurveda knowledge seekers, nutrition professionals, students,
and anyone interested in understanding diet from an Ayurvedic perspective.
Uniquely, it contextualizes ayurvedic recommendations in the light of modern
nutrition science and current dietary research.

To support this commitment, TDU organised a two-day hands-on workshop on "Qualitative Research Methods" from 16-17 September 2026

Participants were guided through theory, games and group activities.

Does Ayurveda work?

Controlled trials used in biomedicine rely heavily on standardised treatment protocols: one-treatment-for-all. However, in Ayurveda, treatments are highly personalized and this is a core treatment philosophy that shouldn’t be dismissed because it is inconvenient.

To address this, Dr. Prasan Shankar and I-AIM Healthcare team undertook an analysis of clinical outcomes in five different clinical areas: supportive cancer care, oral mucositis, psoriasis, diabetes and infertility.

As part of the India Food Systems Youth Network, we recently hosted a session on “From Nutrition Education to Food Systems Literacy: Building a Movement with Children as Problem-Solvers” with Archana Sinha, Co-founder and CEO of the Nourishing Schools Foundation.

What happens when we stop looking at food, nutrition, agriculture, climate and education as separate conversations? The session explored how these connections shape the way children understand food, make choices and engage with the food system around them. It also challenged the idea that information alone is enough to change behaviour.

Fire Safety Demonstration & Training Programme at TDU 🚒

TDU successfully conducted a Fire Safety Demonstration & Training Programme today, 7th September 2026, in collaboration with the Karnataka State Fire & Emergency Services, Government of Karnataka.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from our students, faculty members, and staff. The mock fire drill and practical demonstrations conducted by the Fire & Emergency Services team were highly informative and provided valuable hands-on learning on how to respond effectively during fire emergencies.

The PowerPoint presentation and awareness session further enhanced our understanding of fire safety measures, emergency procedures, and preparedness.

A sincere appreciation to the Karnataka State Fire & Emergency Services team for conducting an excellent and engaging training programme, and to all our students and staff for their active participation.

Together, let us build a safer, more aware, and better-prepared campus community. 🧯🔥

In this session, Dr Rupa will explore organic farming through the lens of production, consumption and regulation, covering its principles and practices, certification and standards, the consumer perspective and the need to make organic food affordable and accessible.
